Well, yeah, I agree with this one (to a degree). To me, at least, Brigitta pursuing Scrooge can be funny if seen occasionally... but if all we see of Brigitta's interactions with Scrooge is her acting like a lovesick puppy, dedicating her life to becoming Scrooge's wife... then she quickly comes across to the reader as being pathetic. The solution is to give her other interests as well and to dampen her love for Scrooge a bit. She should be able to talk to Scrooge as an equal, as a mature and intelligent woman... not as a lovesmitten one-dimensional character.

I would argue that's a matter of opinion. Yes, we're talking about cartoon ducks here, but if you were Brigitta's friend in real life, would you encourage her to continue to pursue Scrooge despite how he keeps treating her because "he's a nice person deep inside"?
No, I wouldn't. In real life, if Scrooge treated her like dirt, I would advice Brigitta to stay away from him, and I would scold Scrooge for being a jerk. Which the boys have done more than once. But in Disney comics Scrooge isn't always a jerk and time is constantly wound back (or so it seems -- just look at how many Christmas parties the boys have been at), so it's understandable that Donald and the boys only remember Scrooge having been a jerk towards Brigitta a couple of times at most.

That said, Scrooge being abusive for no reason other than Brigitta saying she loves him isn't very sympathetic, no. Perhaps there is a way to fix that, though...
I also think Brigitta should move on every now and then and find a new (healthy?) obsession for her life. I think Scarpa created her to be a woman who would try tirelessly to break the ice in Scrooge's heart, but this would be only the premise of her role in the 'Duckverse', 'cos soon she forgot her sweetheart condition and became a woman-able-to-cheat-to-get-what-she-wants, including Scarpa created another great character to help her conquer Scrooge, the not that honest Jubal Pomp, who became her best friend. There is a classic story (http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=I+AT++302-A) where she pretends to be in love with Rockerduk, what makes Scrooge terribly jealous. She and Rockerduck had actually made a pact that would benefit them both. That's the Brigitta I do love. Oh, and, Mr. Jensen, I hope your story where she dates Flint (http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=d+2006-273) is published in my country soon. That's the kind of story she needs to show her strong personality, after all she wasn't conceived to be a lovesick puppy.

Talking about (sick?) obsessions, maybe Magica de Spell should move on too and find a place in her agenda to get a boyfriend. To get the 'Number one dime' is definitely something that was already completely explored in the comics... I like her obsession but this girl needs to get a life urgently!!!

Yeah, the ducks and their friends aren't exactly healthy folks, but they are so cool that I just igone this fact. Brigitta is supposed to be a wacky middle-aged woman who wants desperately an old man. Magica, in turn, is supposed to be a wacky witch who thinks Scrooge's NOD is the best object in the whole world. Regarding Daisy, Barks really made her a girl hard to deal with. But I like this. She's like Lucy from Peanuts.

...not that it's bad that cartoon characters are absolutely nuts, of course. ;) But since we were doing such a deep examination of Brigitta's character, I thought I'd mention this.
