While Irene moves north the east coast, I hope everyone is at a save place.

I just wondered if there are any hurricane stories by Disney?
I just remember this Barks story: A Financial Fable. But it's not really about a hurricane, more a tornado.

That's the beginning of the Duck Tales Theme Song. I know that tune anywhere. I can't think of any stories with hurricanes in them.

The Barks 1958 story with "Catapult" the frog The Nephews placed in the frog jumping contest. "Autumn is the season of hurricanes in Duckburg." Catapult loses the contest, but is a hero when he delivers an important message through the horrible hurricane conditions.

I have A Financial Fable in Uncle Scrooge Adventures #23 and Storm Dancers in Donald Duck Adventures (Gladstone Series) #32. That panel is Old Froggy Catapult which I have in Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse #4.

I like the name "Old Froggie Catapult" because it sounds like the weirdest nickname ever for a Civil War general. That is all.

Ha! I couldn't read this thread on Sunday, because Irene had deprived me of power, but I assure you that on Sunday evening I read (by flashlight) "Old Froggie Catapult," as the hurricane story of choice. It's actually one of my top ten favorite Barks ten-pagers, perhaps even #2 after "The Screaming Cowboy." I'm a sucker for the small, oversensitive loser saving the day.
