Just for those of you that don't know, today is the birthday of the Good Duck Artist, Carl Barks, creator of Uncle Scrooge, Gyro, Gladstone, and many others. He's 106 today. Happy birthday, Unca Carl. Thanks for years of inspiration.

If i remember right this day is the only day in the year where you can be sure the danish comic shop Pegasus in Copenhagen is open - his ad says that the store is always open on Barks' Birthday :)

That's good to know! 26 of the last 27 times I've gone there, he wasn't there! That's even after calling first and his telling us he'd be there at a particular time!
I found a lot of great comics there in the '80s and '90s (almost all the Barks Tom & Jerrys, and almost all of the Milton Woody Woodpeckers (Søren Spaette), Kalle Kloderik and a few Dansk Disney books, too.

Friends of mine had a (great-)grandma who died 2 days before her 100th birthday. Maybe it gives some stress? I wished Barks had become 200 years old!!
