This is odd. I was just looking up information on Grandma Duck, and it claimed that she "died in Duckburg? in 1970" (question mark theirs).
However, I had bought new Donald Duck stories back in 1986 ("I'll whip up something in the microwave" says Charlotte "Charlie" Mudd when Donald meets her, to give you an idea of those issues' then-current stature) and Grandma Duck was very much alive.
Anybody have any information on her? I was planning to give her a cameo in a project I'm working on, so it's sort of important to know for accuracy's sake, so to speak. ;)

I am not a big fan of that Rosaish desire to point out every useless detail about when Donald or whatever family member lived and how old and how related to yada yada yada. Grandma Duck is alive and will always be. No, she didn't die.

Don Rosa's stories takes place in the 50's and 60's becasue it was during that time Carl Barks drew most of his comics and it also makes sense how Scrooge McDuck could have been part of the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898 without being 144 years old by todays date. According to Rosa Grandma Duck was born in ca. 1855 and she died in ca. 1970, 115 years old, so why it says she died in 1970 and still is around today, is that Don Rosa stories takes place during that time. And I have to say that I also like to think that the comics takes place during that time as well and probably for the same reasons as Don Rosa.
