Hoping some of you Canadian French-speakers could help me out with a favor. I'm not at all well-versed in the history of Disney comics in Quebec, though it seems from my meager research that Hachette has exported their French editions from time to time. So, some questions:
?¢ How eager would you be for ongoing French editions? Are the English versions fitting the bill or would you prefer a comprehensive dedicated French line?
?¢ What titles would be ideal to lead the launch? I'm assuming a WDCS-style anthology book and Uncle Scrooge are the no-brainers, but what about Mickey, Donald, and the rest? Or is it better to forget about periodicals and go right to albums?
Sorry for plugging up the board with advice-seeking -- I just thought this would be a great place to start!

A short note on the history of Disney comics in Quebec:
"Hachette has exported their French editions from time to time" yes, from what I know Hachette distributes its comics in many French speaking areas, and the current weekly long has had a price in Canadian $ (Hachette even has made some specific comics for Africa - including Ivory Coast: http://coa.inducks.org/publication.php?c=ci/MC).
From the late 1970s to the mid 1980s, the publisher Heritage made its own French-speaking comics distributed in Quebec. Most issues are listed in Inducks, but only some of them are fully indexed. The comics format was similar to American ones, in number of pages and size, but the stories were selected independently (for instance they published Disney comics or even non-Disney games made in France, and a Barks story that was unpublished at the time in France, they also had their own translations).
Then of course there were various newspapers which published Disney strips, only a few are listed in Inducks, but there are probably much more:
* L'action catholique (24 issues, 1942-1947)
* La patrie (1 issue, 1961)
Canada also published its own "Mickey Mouse annual", a copy of the British Mickey Mouse Annual (publisher The Musson Book Company Ltd, Toronto) in English.
