Hello again! I made this topic because I'm interested in whether anyone has done a Disney comic for fun and not for submissions; and also to see if there are people who have ideas about doing them.
Here's a rough piece of concept art for an idea I have:

All three ducks are handcuffed. Scrooge managed to get the key and is freeing himself, ignoring the other two. Meanwhile, Flintheart and Rockerduck are either being antagonistic towards each other or scheming together.
Here's the current premise:
Scrooge had just told his nephews that he's leaving the salvaging of the Flying Dutchman to them as he's forgoing it to take care of another matter that had come up. When he gets to where the trouble was supposed to be however, he's knocked out and kidnapped by the same villain responsible for spiriting away Flintheart and Rockerduck a few days earlier! The three would have to cooperate together (or not) in order to free themselves, though it seems that the reason they were caught in the first place is getting the way...
There's still a ton of things I'm not sure of: I'm thinking that the villain's originally a correspondent of Rockerduck's as it all started with something he did, and that he kidnapped Flintheart then Scrooge because of something only the three of them have. It's either their money or some sort of related artifact in their collections.
Then, there's also Donald and HDL's side of the story as they go get the ship for Uncle Scrooge by themselves because apparently there's still something valuable in it.
...but there'll probably be big changes as I go along -- first ideas aren't always the best, and I barely know anything about Rockerduck -- though that's only if I have the perserverance to actually finish this.
All that aside, if any of you know of other leisure comic projects, could you guys drop a link in? I would really like to see what other ones are out there.

The piece of art looks very dramatic, but I could actually some kind of a Donald-Jones fight with Glomgold and Rockerduck planning all kinds of ludicrious scemes against each other! :)
I'm making a story myself right now (only sketches) but now I'm busy looking it through on errors and mistakes, that sort of stuff. The story is finished, with only a small gap that I still need to fill up.
Then I'll scan it in. One minor thing - the dialogue is in Dutch. I'll have to change all of the dialogue to English.
Here's my current premise:

On their way we meet lots of people, like:
-A Japanese chef working in a Chinese restaurant in Tokyo
-A man who used to work for Scrooge and is now running a spare parts store in Siberia
-Gladstone and Daisy, on vacation to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa
-An owner of a chocolate museum in Brussels, revealing some information about Scrooge in 1912 (a plot comparable to Voodoo Hoodoo)
We also learn more about Scrooge's past with some anecdotes about 1888, 1904, 1908 and 1912
It'll be finished in about a week. Also holding the future record of cameo appearances, going back as far as Julius the Cat and Peg-Leg Pete the collector of rare crossword puzzles.

That does sound like a good idea for Fan comic especially the part where Flintheart Glomgold and John D. Rockerduck appear in the same story. That almost never happens.

Oh, I could post hunderds of posts with my ideas. But only very few make it to sketches.
One of my latest ideas:
The Beagle Boys make an aging machine which makes everyone in the ray have the physical age of 80. This way, they have an easier time robbing the bank and that sorts of stuff. One thing they didn't count on are the people in town who are older than 80. They feel fitter than they have in years, and decide to profit from that. They catch the Beagles.
It's not one of those story though, were I think it's good enough to put on paper. I've got something else that much better. A series with Scrooge as history teacher in Huey, Dewey and Louie's class, for example. The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck showed that he's got a lot of history to tell. Some years with some ideas already: 1904, 1908, 1912 and 1930 (coincidentally the years mentioned in the story above). A short summary of those stories:
1904: this on comes from a Barks quote "when I sold recordings of "The Baggage Coach Ahead" at the St. Louis World Fair". Sounds familliar? This 6-page story tells what happened back then. In the unused sketches of Lo$ 11 is a scene on this Fair, that one I'm using too. I've actually already sketched the story, but I don't like the ending. It also features a flashback to 1899.
1908: Scrooge gets crazy about automobiles. Now it's up to Grandma to get him back on track. Why? Scrooge doesn't have a driver's licence. This idea comes from "The Wind in the Willows", with Mr. Scrooge as Mr. Toad.
1912: a short flashback, seen in the story from the last post. An incident with a Belgian chocolate museum decides that it's enough with Europe.
Spring 1930: after the strike of the 1929 crash, a Japanese collegue of Scrooge tells him to become zen. So Scrooge sets off to Japan for some zen-training.
And an extra flashback story, going back to Donald's first date with Daisy (although we all know he first met her when she came living next to him in 1941).
About 1995: Donald needs to study for his exams, and find a date for the proms. How is he going to do that? It seems impossible, until he meets a young woman called Daisy.
That's just the tip of the iceberg.

I wanted to finish reading your script for the first episode before replying, but things keep getting in the way so I might as well say something now: I think it's pretty darn good! I haven't gotten far, but all I've read so far (except the parts where they start talking about investments; that bit kinda made me go slightly crosseyed) were just like a real episode. I could even imagine the scenes to go along with them easily. The drawings for the comic are also quite well done. I really hope your project gets done right!

@Dutch Duckfan Down Under, thank you for your compliment! It's impressive how you've come up with so many ideas. Travelling the world in one day huh? A lot seems to have happened in those 24 hours, with Glomgold in tow no less! I'm interested in how you'll be pulling that off. The other ideas sound alright too, but I think it's almost too bad that you're not completing the Beagle Boy idea; it would've been fun and seems to have a similar tone with your Scrooge-goes-driving idea.

Lucky you, Duckling! I so happen to have it. It's a story in which Scrooge needs to prove himself that he can earn one billion in a month anywhere around the globe. Meanwhile, Rockerduck thinks he's at the brink of a big business deal in which he is interested.

My favorite person in the story is a certain Frenchman. Unfortunately, it's a pun for Dutch-only. Also, I'll have Flintheart Glomgold go through a villanious breakdown. Owch... It's those two stories that I actually created to draw certain things. In the first idea, it was just to show everybody old and wrinkly, the other one is 1908 Scrooge. He's fun. But I think the 1904/1899 story is better.

Hi again, it's been a while! I still have a long ways to go before I can put something proper in here, but I've managed to come up with a draft overview of what would happen in the Donald Duck story that would accompany the Scrooge one:

- During/Before they get to their final destination where the ship still encased in ice is, a sailor comments on how the old legend about it is a joke now.
- HDL sigh, and they mention how its a bit sad that the mystery of the thing was solved as they take pictures of the ship.
- The five of them board the old ship, reopening the old entrance Scrooge and nephews made ages ago. They also have the original steering wheel, compass and (patched up) fishing shanty which the ducks put back onto the ship, while Gyro gets the iceberg ready to be towed.
- They begin to make their way to Duckburg.
- There was a mishap; Donald accidentally used the special heater Gyro invented to melt the iceberg way ahead of schedule and their tow boat was sunk. They managed to get onto the old ship.
- The Flying Ducthman wasn??t exactly ship-shape however, and was very slowly starting to take in water; they would never make it to land before it sinks.
- Their only hope was one invention that Gyro had with him that allowed the ship to fly.
- The sailor who made the earlier comment manages to catch sight of the flying ship and is flabbergasted.
- After a short adventure, the ship breaks but something happens that makes the duck think that the legend will live on somehow.
- Some time after, a furious Scrooge watches over everyone as they repair the broken ship.
Originally, I wanted something more supernatural to happen. Then I came to read (I think it was from this Carl Barks info site) a mention of Barks preferring more logical explanations to phenomenal ones, so I put Gyro in there. The Scrooge story is being changed according to this revelation as well, so there's nothing new for that yet.
On another note, I have tried browsing Deviantart for some other fan comics and I liked this one the best. Yet, I was quite surprised that the few I could find involving Donald or Scrooge are almost all influenced by Don Rosa! I know I am too, but I expected more. It's probably because I'm only limited to English searches though. :(
Ah, I wish I could discuss more with you comic fans but I'm still very new at all this. I haven't even read a single page of Gottfredson yet, but I intend to try and read more of the other Disney comics after I finish all the Scrooge stories I can get my hands on.

My latest idea is based on a SpongeBob Squarepants episode, called "The Krusty Tower".
Because all the good-running hotels are close to a famous landmarks, opens Uncle Scrooge hotel "The Money Bin". After a disasterous first guest (Fethry) Donald decides to spend his three days of vacation in "The Money Bin". These are going to be three hard days for Scrooge, the hotel manager...

He has, I thought that would only be natural. Donald is the piccolo. Miss Quackfaster is the receptionist, Clerky the janitor (I couldn't think of someone else), Battista (Bertus in Dutch, Scrooge's Italian butler) is the cook and Scrooge is the manager.
After Donald's disasterous first day (Fethry on the 28th floor just likes calling room service too much) he takes his three days of vacation per year. Next day there's a new guest in the hotel... :)

Yet another bunch of story ideas that are never going to be written down.
After the umpteenth McDuck money cut, Donald decides to go on strike. This doesn't bother Scrooge at all, but the news soon goes all around the world and everywhere McDuck empolyees feel inspired and go on strike because everything has to be cheap. This soon spreads over to other large companies. After it appears to be cheaper to just shut everything down for the time being, the question has to be asked: what are the consequenses if McDuck Enterprises is shut down?
Maybe a bit too adult, but yet I wonder what would happen if such a large company as McDuck would shut down.
Finally, we get to know who Huey, Dewey and Louie's father is. Apperently they're princes of a small, unknown European country. But the question is: do they want to be princes, or do they want to go back to their Unca Donald? Could involve a sub-plot with Scrooge trying to get a bargain out of the fact his nephews are princes of a foreign country. In the end it's revealed there is another heir to the throne, a faraway cousin: (SOMEONE COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED).
It's the umpteenth feud between Donald and Jones again. But this time there's hope: on the other side a new neighbor moves in. Will he stop it, or will he only make things worse?
After years of thinking, I've finally found a nice opening story for Carl (neigbour boy), my own creation.
One day, a girl from across the street knocks at Carl's door. Carl's an optimistic guy, but there are limits. She's so sweet that even pure sugar seems sour. This is bad. How can he get rid of her?
Some kind of a horror story, I'll admit. And this is one of those story where I've got an ending but it's not right, it makes Carl come off as some kind of jerk. He's not, he's just a nice guy.
Uncle Scrooge has a horrible Christmas. This year's profits haven't been this low in years. To make matters worse, his family has asked him to come over to Grandma Duck for dinner. He's definately not in the mood for that. But when he finally goes to sleep and wakes up the next morning, he finds out something horrible. It's Christmas Day! Again! And again! And again! And again! How will he get out of this time loop?
