I am a first time visitor. I have recently had the time to search , unsuccessfully and frustratingly , for DDuck or Uncle Scrooge stories that I remember --I think-----from my distant youth. One I believe is called ' Omelet 'and the other is called or has a reference to a place called Tralalee or Tralala . If anyone could help me come up with the comic book name and issue number , I would be very grateful . Thanks.

Tomm
GeoX---- Many thanks for your info. I am new at this . Can you offer a suggestion as to where I might best start looking to buy a copy of these issues ? Amazon ? Thanks. Tomm

You're welcome. I've always found that brucehamilton.com is an easy and fairly inexpensive option.

GeoX ---Thank you again. I will check out your suggested site. You have been a great help!

I have Omelet in Donald and Mickey #22 and Trala La in Uncle Scrooge Adventures #39 and Carl Barks' Greatest Duck Tales Stories #2

Roger, I have Omelet in Carl Barks Library set 8 and Donald Duck Digest 2. I have Trala La in Carl Barks Library set 3, Uncle Scrooge Digest 3, Uncle Scrooge Adventures 39 and Toon Treasury of Classic Childrens Comics.

Rodney you have the Trala La story in more issues than I do. You must really like that story. I have never heard of Toon Treasury of Classic Children's Comics.

If "number of copies owned" positively correlated to "degree of appreciation for," my favorite story would probably be "The Victory Garden."

I have that same story in all the issues listed above, as well as in the following books:
The original Dell comic book(1954), the first Gold Key reprint in Uncle Scrooge, The Abbeville Press hardbound Uncle Scrooge album, Gladstone album, Gladstone hardbound album, The Gemstone printing in Uncle Scrooge, 3 different Dutch weekly printings (First and 2 reprints), Oom Dagobert album, Beste Verhalen van Donald Duck album, Donald Duck en Andere Verhalen (reprint), Oom Dagobert Miniboekje, and probably a few other printings, as well as in The German Carl Barks Collection. The only versions I don't have (and would want, is The Dutch Carl Barks Library (Black & White-similar to original US Carl Barks Library), and US Carl Barks Library in Color). I might also have it in Micky Maus and in Anders And & Co, and perhaps a Danish special book. I will also be getting a version in the new Fantographics US Carl Barks Collection.

So, I may have 23-24 versions of it (as well as ALL the other Barks classic stories). Maybe that's a bit of overkill.

I never imagined that there was such an active Internet discourse in the comic book world of D Duck and Uncle Scrooge ! I appreciate the posts of all who responded to my ' Help ' request . It brings me joy to realize that I am just one of many who treasure these wonderful characters and stories.j

We are the few and the proud. But this board is a tremendous resource.

My turn. I think the 1947 10-pager "Vacation Time" is one of the stories I won most, but I'm not sure. I should check that once.
I've got Omelet in Donald Duck 31-1978 and Facsimile album 2-1953 (reprint of DD 42-1953). Both are Dutch issues.
I've got Tralla La only in Carl Barks Library 3.
