Topic: A good place to sell Disney?

I think having a place to put offers for buying, selling or exchanging Disney comics here would be fine. We would just have to make it clear that there is no guarantee whatsoever that the offer is genuine.

In the future, I could add some new tool to COA for people who want to advertize to other users that they are looking for or selling or willing to exchange some comics, and in which region of the world they live.

That could be a way for collectors living nearby to e.g. exchange comics and save the price of postage.

No, I'm back since 2 weeks. Nice, that you remember my vacation in the US :) The message (like this one) was send from my o2 phone in Germany.

I don't like eBay and Amazon due to the high fees. They are not good for selling comic books for a few $ or ?¬. And you will reach more Disney Comic readers here.

My post #313 :)

IP addresses are re-assigned from one country to another every now and then. The table I am using to determine the country using the IP address dates back from the beginning of the forum, and I didn't update it. Updating it wouldn't solve the problem, as old IP addresses would not be matched to the correct country. So I would need to use a history IP addresses.

Is it worth all that work? probably not!

You're right. I was just wondering.

In that case I would propose to abandon the flag system for good. You can see where a user is located anyway.
(One exception from this is Rob Klein who seems to rotate between America, Holland and Munich [that's near Germany]. It was always interesting to see where he pitched his tent this day!)

I'd be interested in seeing what others might wanna sell off. Should be a separate sub-forum though, so each seller could have their own thread they could update.

I like the flags. I've always liked flags. Why abandon them? At the very least they're a handsome graphic element. Why not abandon the avatars, too then? After all, you can read the user's name?

So should we create a subforum, or just a thread? If this is a subforum, how should we name it? ("sell, buy & exchange Disney comics"?)
Charlie Brown
It should be a separate sub-forum. I would like the name "Disney Comics Marketplace". It's simple. You may ad some ground rules to it as well, e.g. that the forum is not responsible for the offers.

I sure wouldn't mind that, either then I could finally get more issues with my namesake in 'em :)

I was about to write this exact same post....I agree. The Disney Comics Forum......The Disney Comics Marketplace.

OK. Someone expressed concerns about potential legal troubles, but I'm in favour of it, personally (note: maybe we can discuss this here?).
If we do it, that will be first as an experiment. If we receive many emails from people complaining about the actions of people after they made a deal, we'll have to re-think of it, but I hope that won't happen.
Charlie Brown
What kind of legal troubles do they expect? Regarding the name "Disney Comics Marketplace", the marketplace function or regarding the offers? For the offers should every seller/buyer be responsible.
I'm looking forward to the "experiment" and I hope no one will get bad deals.

Thank you!
