Yeah, I've had it with Donald, Hero Squad and I'm going to even cancel my Darkwing Duck pull before I get sucked into that too.....I just feel like I been going in circles spending money for really 'meh' stuff. I'm down to just Uncle Scrooge now, which isn't the greatest presently either.....hanging on for the 400th issue....I hope BOOM! can rebound in the next year with more exposure and more younger readers as that seems to be their target. Otherwise, I swear we're looking at Donald Duck and Wolverine cross-overs....

Why can't they publish Don Rosa stories? That would make my day! These are the stories I would like to read. I'm still missing some and they are very expensive on the resale market. The stuff they're publishing now I wouldn't even want to look at.

I already have Rosa's complete oeuvre, so that would be less interesting to me, but sure, if you can kickstart some interest that way, go ahead and reprint some stories. I wonder, though--given the extent to which they riff off of Barks' works, it seems like it might be more effective to start with some Barks (how many total Barks stories has Boom! even printed? It can't be more than a half dozen). Or maybe some Barks/Rosa in tandem. I don't know. Has to be a better idea than what they're currently doing, 'tany rate.

The Rosa story I most wish they'd reprint is the very short "Fir-tree Fracas" Christmas story, printed in Mickey & Donald 1, and not reprinted since in the USA. I love it, and I want a copy (in English) that's on good-quality paper! If anyone else on DCF feels moved to write to BOOM and request it.... It's only four pages, they should be able to fit it in *somewhere*. I did write and request it last year, obviously to no avail. By the way, have they cancelled the Christmas hardcover, as well as the "classics" hc's?

I think they're trying to publish stuff that's popular with kids--these are reprints from best-selling Italian publications. They tried publishing classic hardcovers, but they didn't sell enough and they got cancelled.
Maybe when these titles get established, then they'll start reprinting older stuff.

I will go on-record as saying that I would purchase any Boom! title featuring "Fur-Tree Fracas" on high-quality paper--or any other Rosa story that has never been so-printed in the US, for that matter. Insane completist that I am, I'd even purchase a comic with a US printing of "Gyro's Beagle Trap," even though it's only a page long and would make no sense to anyone unfamiliar with the German Disney logo. Also, a version of "Quest for Kalevala" with the extra last page. Also, too.

...also, single-part printings of those Rosa stories which have only appeared in the US as serials ("The Universal Solvent," "Once and Future Duck," "Attack of the Hideous Space Varmints," those Three Caballeros stories) would be nice. Okay, I'm done now.

I also think it would be cool if they reprinted more stories by Don Rosa and Carl Barks too. In fact I think they should do tradepaperbacks dedicated to their work throughout their entire careers.
