Reasons He could have been added: It would have been nice for Flintheart to have an ancestor.

Reasons He wasn't added: It wouldn't been appropriate to mention death in a Disney Comic.
I read and I like this charachter, but the fact he has killed Eider... :/

Interestingly, Flintheart is known as "Mac Moneysac" in Germany. The "Mac" being some kind of first name, as Scrooge often calls him "Macky".

Yes. Perhaps THAT's why I attribute the Scots background of Glomgold to Barks. I may be remembering that Barks intended that Glomgold have a Scots background similar to Scrooge's, as he described to me, when I asked him about Glomgold. Scrooge would have more reason to relish the competition with Glomgold for amassing the most wealth, if his adversary were as penny-pinching and cantankerous as Scrooge, based on a similar frugal Scottish upbringing. That's why he gave him the Tam O'Shanter. If I remember correctly, he envisioned Glomgold brought up in Scotland in those frugal circumstances, and being a World-wide adventurer (like Scrooge). His quest for wealth and adventure took him to South Africa (most logically during the rush for diamonds, in the late 1800s. He made his first fortune there, and so, settled down there, similarly to Scrooge settling in Duckburg (one of the places he made big money).

Barks wanted Glomgold to have a life path somewhat parallel to that of Scrooge. It doesn't make sense to me based on what Carl told me, what he put in the stories, and how he portrayed Glomgold, that Glomgold would have been born in the country where he made his money, and have only worn the Tam O'Shanter out of family tradition.

I think Flintheart was supposed to be potrayed as a more evil version of Scrooge. He is like Scrooge except that he is more dishonest. He would stoop to levels even Scrooge wouldn't stoop to. That's why he is still only the second richest duck.

I agree too, but if you read Guido Martina's stories Scrooge is more, more and more disonhest than everyone else... ;)

Martina used Flintheart Glomgold in http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=I+TL++615-AP . Do you really think Scrooge is more dishonest than Glomgold in that story? In my opinion, they come off as being pretty even (in that story).

I've just read W DD 115-01, that resembles S 88020..
In W DD 115-01, Scrooge's bilionaire rival is called Gotrocks as another Scrooge's rival, but in Italy he is called "Cuordipietra Famedoro", the italian name of Flintheart.
In this story, Gotrocks has a nephew called "Stonehart", who has to demonstrate to has more business acumen than Donald.
The name "Stonehart" is a portmanteau of "Stone" and "Hart", a german word who means "Hard"... ;)

I find portoguese and spanish are pretty simple when a person speak italian every days, they resemble each-others... ;)
