Man all I have is XBox, and Nin DS, hope they'll either make 'em available online (as in in general, not just PS3) or on one of these, too

Nice review, thanks for posting it. I downloaded a few of the free comics when they first opened the shop, but haven't purchased any additional ones. The reader works quite well, but I'm holding off on digital comic book purchases until I get an iPad. All in all I give PSP comics a thumbs up.

Quote from user: KneonMarvel Comics come to the iPad. Impressively, I might add:

So how long until we see Ducks and Mice?
Looks great. I would love to get Disney comics on iPad and MAC/PC.

There are digital Disney comics for the iPod already, I'm sure they'll release iPad versions too. Sadly, they are pretty bad. The panels have been cropped without mercy, it's inexcusable.

The biggest advantage to releasing comics on the iPad (as opposed to the iPod) would be not having to crop the pages at all -- the screen is large enough to accommodate an entire comic book page. Hopefully we'll see some Disney material soon.

Gosh--I hadn't thought of that. My main reaction to the ipad so far has been "what's the point?" but Disney comics could just push me over the edge!

I see two important points for digital comics:
1st The reading experience and page layout should be the same like printed (the iPad offers a great screen for that)
2nd You should get a backup of each purchased book usable on any device in the future (high resolution pdf would be best)
If someone offers that, I would buy it right away. Perhaps we can get an Barks and Rosa collection that way soon?

Those are the digital comics I complained about in an earlier post. They are well done on the PSP, but not so on the iPod. On the PSP the reader is presented with a whole page, one can use the autozoom feature, or zoom in on the panels manually. The iPod doesn't give you the choice, all the panels are pre-cropped, and there is no way to zoom in or out. Some of the cropping is pretty bad. I'm guessing most casual readers wouldn't care, but if you're a serious fan, the cropping will probably bug you.

The main source for the Disney Digicomics project appears to be in Italy.
I say this simply because when I visited the official Topolino site a month ago, they were advertising the official ad for Disney Digicomics right there on their page.
Also, the iPhone version let's you view in one of two languages, English and Italian. There is the occasional translation error, but nothing terribly serious or distracting. But the nature of the typos suggest that whoever is doing the translation isn't living where English is the native language.
I've been buying them both on my psp and my new iPhone and am eternally grateful. ;)
