Hello everyone!,
I read from italian publication, called "Disney Parade" (published with
DFD's 3D model), that Donald Fauntleroy Duck was choosed by more than 200
allied fighting units as its emblem, during World War II.
Furthermore I read he's mascotte of Oregon University.
Then I add some my own consideration.
It's also well known that "Donald in Mathmagic Land" movie by Hamilton
Luske was documented by Heinz Haber, who worked together with Werner von
Braun, the man who mostly contributed to the launch of the first man over
the lunar ground in 1969. There's also an italian comics version of
that story.
Thus bellicose character and cultural character are both
included in the sunny DFD !!
Now my question: can someone give me more information about
such a bellicose character, not wicked! , e.g. explaining me
which were such war units?
Thanks a lot !!!!!

Sad news:
Daniel Branca died last Friday of a heart attack in Buenos Aires.
I personally think, that without him there will be a big gap in our
weeklies. He was a great artist with a special talent for strong facial
expressions and stir panels. Sometimes his drawings make you feel like
watching an animated cartoon. I especially liked his works involving the
Beagle Boys and Magica de Spell.

Daniel Branca passed away, January 28, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was
53.
Branca was one of my favorites. His stuff always had so much expression and
attitude, and his drawings were great. I'd always heard he was a fine artist,
too, but I've never seen any of that work. Anybody have any links to any of
his fine art?

Daniel Branca passed away, January 28, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 53
Branca would be considered "The Second Greatist Duck Artist".
His covers and stories are just simple but at the same time creates a Barks style art.
Sigh - Egmont should"ve made a Hall of Fame book before he passed away.
Even, though his art is not printed in the USA monthly like it should be.
His art is no comparison to Vicars the best stories he"s done are by David Geirstein.
The best link for his cover is http://de.outducks.org/od/ and some info on him is http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.ehapa.de/comicnews/zeichner/danielbranca.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3DDaniel%2BBranca%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26c2coff%3D1%26sa%3DN and http://www.lambiek.net/branca_d.htm.
