'mht'? The mail I received contained an attachment named 'Daniel Branca
(from Argentina)' with no filename extension whatsoever. S?ren's mail
also contained a proper 'Content-Type: message/rfc822', which is
unfortunatly replaced with an improper 'Content-Type: text/html' by the
Uppsala server. (Per: Make sure that the Uppsala server sends out the
correct Content-Type for the files it sends out!)
Anyone who has installed a program that can be used for displaying and
downloading message/rfc822 files, i.e. e-mails, should be able to
display that file properly if the Content-Type is corrected. In the
meanwhile, try saving the file locally and opening it in any e-mail
client. Some e-mail clients may require you to rename the file so that
it ends with '.eml'. Also, opening it in a text editor should show you
the text in the mail.

Hey! What's wrong with discussing Dani?l Branca and Marco Rota? :-)
I agree that DCML should be open for everyone. If people don't like some
contributions, or the thought of wasting their beloved hard-disc with a
few more kilobytes, they should be well aware that they're joining this
mailing list for FREE. I welcome everyone to disagree with me, but I find
some complaints VERY unthankful. My advice is: Don't complain about a few
kilobytes. Just use the scroll-button, or the delete-button. Think of all
the megabytes that you DO like.
Another point of criticism is that a lot of people complain about the lack
of discussions about artists other than Barks and Rosa. But why don't they
start a discussion themselves? I get the feeling that some people think
that DCML is a television station, instead of an interactive forum. It's
very easy to sit back, and to let others do the talking for you. But then,
don't complain if people say something you don't like.
And if people REALLY want to unsubscribe, they should do so, instead of
only warning that they're planning to do it. Or do they expect that people
will beg them to stay, and that people will change the conditions just to
please them? Who would want to be such a control freak?

Cesar Da Col is a great friend of me. Is true, people in Argentina did know
nothing about Daniel Branca, beyond the fact he drawed popular argentine
characters some time ago. But hey, american people didn't know who Carl
Barks was.
I am very sad about the Branca death. I was planning have an interview with
him. I always did think he was living in Europe. Just recently I realize he
did have his study near in Parque Centenario where I go to walk and buy
comics a lot of times...
Sad, sad... I keep thinking "carpe diem" Life's too short...

bathe in this issue's Carl Barks reprint, his renowned "Three Dirty Little
Ducks," (my first Disney comic story!) from Walt Disney Comics and Stories #43
(April 1944). A modern Mickey Mouse tale, "Computer Commando," by Sarah Kinney and

I usually like the McGreal's stories, so I sure hope that Mythos Island
series is good. Otherwise we'll be complaining like superhero comics fan do: "When
will this stupid 6 part 192 page arc about Spiderman getting angsty once
again, end?!?!" ;) Though unlike superhero comics, WDCS does have the luxury of
many stories per issue, not just one, so you can ignore it if you don't like it.

I actually think Jack Hannah didn't have a very broad
conception of Donald Duck.
I found that Donald"s personaility in the cartoons is different in the comics. In most of the cartoons Donald destroys himself. The cartoons directed by Jack Hannah I like most of dem. Think Donald"s popularity was at a boost meanwhile he seemed tobe a villian in his own series being mean to CnD and HDL. The cartoons were rivalry Donald throwing walnuts at Chip and dale. I find DD cartoons great unless the plots being repeated.
On Scoop I was reading your article Of Mice And Cats. I strongly agree with you that Western"s Mickey was dulled up adult dressed Mickey. In Calgary I was at this shop nearby I guy had some boxes with comics in them so I got some and later he said I'll give u these five for free. One of the comics I got was Mickey Mouse #211 I read Bradbury"s The baffling banana bandits" it was a dissapointment ailens with bananas was not the type of Mickey I was looking for. I love Floyd Gottfredson. My favorite Gottferdson story would be 'Island in the sky' with Dr. Dr. Einmug and Pete trying to tie up Mickey with musical chairs and Pete saying he was reformed yeh right and I am Mickey mouse. Excellent choice for DDF 323 Bark"s Lost in the andes. Any more plans for reprinting MM and DD strips by Al Taliafero and Floyd Gottferdson in Mickey and Donald and friends.

WDC&S #63, Dec. 1945. Donald had placed a newspaper ad offering to
return a $10 bill that HDL had found, and hundreds of people claiming it
appeared at his house. On page 7, panel 4, Donald came to the door wearing
a suit of armor, identical to the armor Barks used later in "The Old Castle's
Secret", and spoke those words to the crowd at his door.
