Still not Disney, but back to Gemstone: the new color edition of the E.C. Archives is absolutely perfectly gorgeously splendid!
I have seven of the original sets (I am missing the shock SuspenStories and the Mad libraries, and only have the SF as comic-format reprints), and am buying the whole new collection as each volume comes out.
Should a new Barks Library be published, I hope it would be in the same quality: the coloring (an enhanced version of the original) one paper and the art are remarkably presented and leap of the pages, precisely thanks to the high quality paper.

I found this freeware a few years ago:

It's a very handy, powerful tool for renaming literally hundreds of files
(I really have had to do just that).
Then the directory's name in the address may be changed using a
search/replace feature if your web page software cannot manage the update
automatically.

I noticed 'MM Joins the Foreign Legion' was reprinted in WDC&S a few months
ago. When it was scheduled to be reprinted by Gladstone in the 80s it was
shelved by disney due to some, (ahem *coff-coff*!) inappropriate material.
Were there any changes that had to be done to it 'at all'? Did Disney agree
as long as this was made? Or did they figure it would be ok since times
have changed?
I was thinking it would be a great idea to start a 'formal online petition'
to have Disney consider reprinting ALL the MM strips and dailies whether it
be in a library or other format unexpurgated. I think the best way to go
about it would be to have a special website created describing more about
the project and what we're trying to accomplish. Obviously, this would be a
lot of time and effort from a lot of people but I would definitely donate
whatever time I could to it and to publicize it to get the word out, (news
outlets, bookstores etc.). It's definitely possible to make happen
especially knowing after the Star Wars debacle where Lucas decided that the
only trilogy to see the light again would be the new one and now we have
both trilogies on DVD.

this story the "glacier monster", the giant frozen mammoth
in its ice cave, makes a second appearance (after Lo$ 8).

Gary, thanks so much for the news on the upcoming Gottfredson Library project. I can't tell you how thrilled I am to hear about this! I like Olivier would love to know whatever details you can tell us about this project. As far as not being able to tell us when this is going to come out, I am OK with that. I hope to be here on Earth for quite a long time yet, and if for some reason I am not, well then I guess I really won't miss having the Library! :)
Can you tell us if a Barks Library project is in pre-production as well? If so, is it generally scheduled for before, after, or about the same time as the Gottfredson one? Any info you can give us on either Library projects or *other* potential Library projects (Rosa, Scarpa, Van Horn, I could go on and on! :)) would be *greatly* appreciated!

Hi: I am new to list and need help. I am trying to determine what issues of
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories from issue 601 through 682 and Uncle
Scrooge from issue 301 through 368 that have non-reprint Don Rosa stories
in them. By non-reprint I mean not reprinting stories that have already
appeared in a Disney USA- newstand comic previously. I am not very concerned
with issues that only have a cover or foldout or 1 page gag art by Rosa. I
do not live near a newstand/book store that stocks these and can not find an
index on internet that gives this information. I also would
appreciate any identification of a USA source(that stocks many issues) for
these comics that sells at a reasonable price(below list price for
vfn-nm used copies. I have a partial list of Rosa
works compiled from issues I have and from a foreign index on the internet
and could share information with any other interested parties. Thanks

I have a copy of the October 19, 1940 issue of Liberty magazine which has a
Disney cover (Donald in his runabout all decked out in patriotic
paraphernalia including a 'hood ornament' of a live eagle tied to the
radiator and dressed as Uncle Sam. When I bought it many years ago the
seller claimed the cover was by Carl Barks. The cover is, of course, signed
"Walt Disney" and the cover credits only says " Front Cover Copyrighted 1940
by Walt Disney Productions." Can any one tell me authoritatively whether it
is, in fact, by Barks? Donald looks very like early Barks. In any case it
is great art work.
