Ken McDaniel asked which issues of Scrooge and WDC&S have first-time
printed Don Rosa stories, basically during the past 10 years. I checked my
records and the list is actually quite long. In addition, there are

Hi: Many thanks to Larry Giver for his list of Don Rosa comic stories
published in USA(no reprints, covers, one pagers). I have since found out
also that there is a wonderful Rosa index of all his Disney domestic and
foreign work at http://coa.inducks.org/index.php. This includes many
reproductions of splash pages, covers, etc with detailed information from
many countries. Obviously a meticulous work. It appears the last indexed
issues are Uncle Scrooge 318 and Walt Disney's Comics and Stories 665 or
thereabouts. Perhaps all of his story work except
Starstruck Duck(2004) has now been reprinted in USA. If
anyone knows a good source in USA for back issues in the ranges US 296-318
and WDCS 601-633 at reasonable prices please let me know; these issues seem
too old to be carried on Amazon.com anymore. regards, Ken

The Eisner Awards were held Friday night at the San Diego Comic Con.
Don Rosa was nominated for Best Short Story.
He attended the awards ceremony but he did not win.
Todd Klein did win for best Letterer for the umpteenth consecutive year.
Don was happy to be nominated but felt it was not his best story.
He did mention that David Gerstein is his "Lucky Charm" and every time Don
has won, David was present. Next time he is nominated, we need to be sure that
David attends!
Just to update you on Don's American activities, he will be in San Diego
through Saturday and heading home on Sunday.
He will be in Baltimore for the September convention.

The plates on my old orange VW Microbus are 176 671. This is currently
sitting in my garage on axle stands waiting for some rust repairs. When
it is finally restored the plan is to paint a life-size grinning Barks
Beagle on the back with the license plate located on his chest.

Hi: Thanks for further inputs to Rosa's USA work. I am assuming from latest
2 inputs to this site that the story "A Little Something Special" which
appeared in USA in ASM 2(I believe Amazing Scrooge McDuck #2) is not the
same story as the one mentioned as "A Little (Extra) Something Special".
Perhaps a sequel?? Thanks, Ken

It is in fact a montage I made for Don Rosa's 50th Anniversary, using panels and images from various stories of his.

I never imagined it would cause such confusion and be considered as a Rosa story.
