Hello.
Can anyone help me here?
I'm looking for all the disney comics where they have visited Scotland.
I of course remember Barks "ClanMcDuck, Loch Mess and the Baskerville hound"
and Rosas sequels (By the way, in *The Crown Of The Crusader Kings,* Scrooge
sings the "Loch Lomond"-song in the end. What was this replaced with in
other translations?)
I also remember one story by Scarpa, where Mickey and Goofy goes to search
for a treasure in a castle, that a scottish man want them to do.
One other I remember is a italian story where Scrooge is after a healing
water from a Loch. This involved a search for the Philosophers stone, and
Scrooge dreams that alls is gold went alive.

Hey, I'm not sure if non-Barks, non-epics are what you
are after, but there are several Strobl-drawn stories
in which the ducks go back to Scotland for one reason
or another. It's possible Vic Lockman was the writer
on some of them. If you are interested, you'll
probably have to do some serious trolling through
inducks; I don't recall any titles off the top of my
head.

Plenty of them: Just to tell some:

Italian stories:
-I AT 259-A: A trasure called Penny.
-I TL 749-AP: Story and glory of the Ducks' dinasty,
part 5 (by the way, contains errors in the COA).
-I TL 1076-A: Uncle Scrooge and the mystery of the
castle.
-I TL 1238-B: The seven-leagues boots.
-I TL 1391-A: Uncle Scrooge and the celtic enigm.
-I TL 1326-A: The castle's ghost (not really in
Scotland, but almost).

American ones:
-W CP 4-04: Mickey Postman's Puzzle
-W DD 42-01: The Castle Heirs
-W MM 119-01: The Mysterious Knight Rider

Geoffrey Blum writes on first set of the Egmont's CBL that the pencil
layouts for 'King Scrooge the first' has been found. Roughly a year ago
Jippes told me that he had done all of the JW-stories, except for "CAPTAINS
OUTRAGEOUS", "LIFE SAVERS"and "PERIL OF THE BLACK FOREST". That included
"KING SCROOGE the FIRST". I pressume that by now he have done all Barks
scripted stories, and they will appear in the Library - Carl Barks Samlade
verk - Carl Barks' Samlede V?rker - Carl Barksin kootut - books number 29
or 30. Blum or Stefan Di?s would more about details.

Hi all!

Posted a set of uncut and cut dailies of Floyd Gottfredsons Mickey Mouse
from 1942 on my blog yesterday.
Did you know that there were three (!!!) versions of the strip available
then? Examples of all versions can be found at

If anyone has got additional info on this subject, feel free to leave a

As far as I know, Jippes will make, or already has made, a version of all
stories written but not drawn by Barks, to be published in Egmont's
Collected Works of Carl Barks, so I guess that there will be Jippes
versions of all those stories by August next year, when the last volume of
Egmont's Barks collection is scheduled to be published.

All stories were drawn by Jippes. In cases where no original Barks
sketches were available, Jippes used the finished artwork (by Wright or
Strobl or whoever).

My e-mail is finally working properly again and I see the discussion
about unknown Carl Barks stories: the titles at least sound really great.

Does anybody know if/when these will appear in the U.S.A.?

Also, is there any news on stories from Don Rosa? Or is the "retirement"
continuing?
