I'm not sure about the price increase for Darkwing. Is it excellent quality
though.

BOOM is very active on Twitter. If you don't like the 3.99 price, you should
let them know about it there. I already have. :-)

I'd guess the reason Darkwing Duck is selling for $1 more than the other
Disney books is simply due to production costs. It's all new material,
versus translated foreign reprints. It ain't cheap to commission new art,
and is no doubt costing Boom! thousands more to print that title than the
others in the line.

If compilations are printed as compilations, I suppose that would be
cheaper than printing each issue separately. But if they build
compilations by assembling separate issues together, it might be really
just a marketing trick, to make the compilation more appealing.

How are translations handled in the disney comics world? Each publisher
must do its own, or once one is done other publishers can use it? Or are
those sometimes sold between publishers?

Hmmm... thanks for the correction. I was basing the pagecount on this
web page here, since I haven't picked up my copy of Darkwing Duck yet:

Looks like they hadn't actually done a count either...

So I don't know why Darkwing Duck costs more. Sure, it is original
(compared to the all-reprint Uncle Scrooge or WDC&S), but so are all
of Boom's Pixar titles, and they are only $2.99

Ouch.? I hate when I see that and then in my haste, I go and neglect to remove the rest of the message from mine!? For shame - sorry, everyone.

That said, so Darkwing is not that much longer (??) than the Boom! "regular" Disney issues?? OK, so I'm still not certain why the extra $1.....

When I went to pick up my comics this week I found out that the first
issue of Darkwing Duck had sold out. Luckily, I had my copies on my
pull list so I got both covers. Now this wasn't some small comic store
that I go to, this was Midtown Comics in NYC, so I'm wondering if other
people were hearing similar things at their comic stores.
