Quote from user: Thomps2525Scrooge sometimes has grey side-whiskers instead of white and the amount of detail in those whiskers can vary quite a bit. On the original DuckTales series, Scrooge didn't even look old---He looked like Donald with some fake side-whiskers and a pince-nez!
Well, Scrooge actually looks like Donald with side-whiskers and a pince-nez no matter who draws him .... he is never depicted as really looking old the way, say, von Drake is. In Double Masquerade, written and drawn by none other than Barks himself, Scrooge and Donald managed to fool a lot of people by posing as each other! Given that almost half a century separates them, Scrooge must really look pretty good for his age.

James, the comics shop here in Glendale ordered only one copy of each of the three Joe Books titles. I bought the Disney Princess and Disney-Pixar treasuries but I didn't buy the Darkwing Duck book because I thought it was only reprints of comics which I already own. I asked the store owner why he ordered only one copy of each book and he told me, "I knew you would buy them." I relied, "So...you don't think anyone else might want the books?" He said, "If anyone else wants them, we can order them." *Sigh*
The Darkwing book has since been sold but I ordered a copy from Amazon. It's temporarily out of stock. Today I got this notification: "Estimated delivery date: Tuesday, April 14, 2015 - Monday, May 4, 2015."
Dan, thank you for posting all those links. Now I'll have something to do while I wait for the Darkwing book. :)

My third-favorite Disney character, after Donald and Scrooge, is Stitch. I love James' drawing of Lilo and Stitch as Belle and the Beast. It was also fun to see Mrs. Potts as Lilo's homemade doll Scrump. Are posters or prints available? I'd love to get one. I'm sure Stitch would join me in declaring, "Sagah nolla wobbi!"

You could try Barnes and Noble. They say it will ship in 2-3 days and the price is about the same as Amazon.
There is also one on Ebay for $32 with free shipping.
I haven't had a chance to check my copy to see the differences from the original printings, but I am looking forward to it.

I'm glad you like that piece but I'm afraid I don't sell prints or anything else with my marker sketches or mashups on them. I have licensed stuff I do through Acme Archives but I can't mass produce anything that's not authorized by the Mouse.

You work for Acme? I hate to have to tell you this...but Acme has no connection with the Walt Disney Company. Acme is where Wile E. Coyote gets all his merchandise. :)

Apparently that Darkwing Duck book is much in demand. It was "temporarily out of stock" on Amazon but I ordered a copy on March 9 and got this message: "Estimated delivery date: Tuesday, April 14, 2015 - Monday, May 4, 2015."
Today I got this message: "Your new estimated delivery date is: Tuesday, March 24, 2015 - Saturday, March 28, 2015." Now I
just have to hope that Launchpad McQuack is not bringing me the book via airplane.

I now have the Darkwing Duck book. All the old comic-book stories have been connected into one long tale and the continuity is somewhat hard to follow in a few places. The stories are not chronlogically sequential. For example, the book begins with Darkwing already retired from crimefighting and working for Quackworks. What's fun for me is looking for all the other Disney characters in the background or in paintings on the wall. Timon and Pumbaa, Chip 'n' Dale, Basil of Baker Street, Flounder and dozens of other characters have "cameos." But whose idea was it to have Magica De Spell talk like a cross between Cookie Monster from Sesame Street and Natasha Fatale from the Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons? "You think you are first sorceress to challenge me?" "Another Darkwing I need like hole in head." Carl Barks created the character in 1961 and she always spoke perfect English.
James Silvani, you did an excellent job with the new artwork you added in various places. I can't even tell where it starts and stops!

The two pages (212-213) of the Darkwing Duck Definitively Dangerous Edition showing Darkwing and Gosalyn at a pet store are reminiscent of the early work of artists Wally Wood and Bill Elder when Mad was a ten-cent comic book (1952-57). James, is that just coincidence? Or were you inspired by all the many background sight-gags that appeared in almost every panel of Mad's parodies of Archie, Superman, Mickey Mouse, The Shadow, et al? Among the fish and small animals at the pet store are Kaa, Thumper, Meeko, Gill, Timothy, Gus and Jaq, Si and Am, Flotsam and Jetsam, Gepetto (in a water-filled tank!), a diminutive Bruce from Finding Nemo, Miss Spider from James & The Giant Peach....and even the four bird hosts of The Enchanted Tiki Room. I bet those pages were as fun for you to draw as they are for us to read! Do you have total freedom...or are there any characters that you are not allowed to use in those cameos?

On April 22 in the United States, Joe Books---which sounds more like the name of a person than the name of a company---will release two more Disney books, a Phineas & Ferb collection and a 101 Dalmatians "cinestory" adalpted from the 1961 animated film.

Yes.
I wish I could provide more details. I keep bugging the clerks at the comics shop here in Glendale. They continue to say there will be a new Darkwing Duck series this year and possibly a new Rescue Rangers series. They still don't know when. But I have some new news: Joe Books has already published "cinestory" books of Frozen, 101 Dalmatians and Cinderella---those are the books that use actual frames from the movies, with lettering balloons added---and there will be several more cinestories coming out this year: Big Hero 6 on June 9 and Inside Out on June 17 (two days before the movie is released to theaters), followed by Alice In Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, WALL-E and Pirates Of The Caribbean. Oh boy!

Now, if the cinestory book for WALL-E were to include also a cinestory version of the short BURN-E, then I would definitely be prepared to shell out the big bucks for it!
I confidently expect that y'all will alert me when the new Darkwing Duck comics appear on the scene.

I have even better news: Joe Books will also publish cinestory books of Winnie The Pooh; Disney Channel's Liv & Maddie series (which stars Dove Cameron playing the two sisters); Disney Channel's Gravity Falls animated series; and the upcoming Disney Channel movie Descendants, a live-action film starring the children of several Disney villains.
Release dates (and a few of the covers) are at http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Joe_Books

Personally, no interest in any of those, but I'm happy for those who do. And will probably get Darkwing. Is it true they also have the DuckTales license?
