Quote from user: Dutch Duckfan Down UnderWhat do you mean? "Wizards of Mickey" isn't published in the Netherlands and I'm sure it won't be for another at least 5 years.
Oh? Didn't know that. I assumed it had been. I thought I read somewhere that Donald was swapped for Mickey on the cover because of his popularity in the Netherlands? (I remember this only because i thought it was odd to have a story called 'Wizards of Mickey' feature Donald so prominently on the cover, despite his popularity.)

Apparently not. ;)

My bad.

EDIT: OK, I see that Donald trumped Mickey in Norway, Denmark, Poland, Finland and Germany according to INDUCKS...

I still find it kind of humorous that a story called "Wizards of MICKEY" features Donald so prominently on the cover. At the end of the day, it's business and if it sells better with Donald, oh well...

I don't know about other countries, but in Denmark the series is called "Magiens mestre" ("Masters of Magic"). No mention of Mickey in the title. So there's no problem in Denmark, at least, with having Donald more prominently placed on the cover.

You know, in the early days of the Brazilian "Ze Caricoca" they redrew all covers and drew Joe Carioca in the place of Donald or Mickey.

In Germany it's "Fight of the wizards".

Quote from user: CoolwaterQuote from user: Lars JensenAs opposed to Donald Duck who is always fully dressed, of course. :)
A man with shorts is a bigger fashion crime than a man with no pants at all. :)

Well, he *does* have pants when he's swimming. When he's swimming, he's wearing *more* clothes than usual. :)

I mentioned it already in that other thread: With Donald (and those who are built like him), a perception of actual nakedness only seems to become acute when he actually wears no clothes at all. But he is "dressed" when he wears something either on his upper or on his lower body. I think there are several examples of different swimming suits of Donald in (Barks) stories: shirt only, shorts only, shirt and shorts or old-style complete-body swimming dress.

An other question is what Hot Pants Mickey uses to wear when he's swimming ... :)

Poor Mickey. Not only is Donald front and center on the covers in some countries, but his name has been stricken from the title as well. :(
What's a poor (multi-billion-dollar) mouse to do?

Both Mickey Mouse and Friends #296 and Uncle Scrooge #384 got a mention on this podcast...
http://bullpenbulletinspodcast.com/2009/10/11-oclock-comics-episode-78/
They get two mentions. First at about the 5 minute mark, and later in the podcast at about the 1 hour 22 minute mark.

I've read MMF #296 a few times and like it a lot. I think starting with Wizards of Mickey was a great move. I'd never read nor heard of the storyline before. But it was fast, fun, and engaging; and the artwork is excellent - I think this will be a hit with kids and I'm really looking forward to following this saga. In fact, I'm more excited by a Mickey book than I have been in a long time. My thanks to BOOM and all concerned.
I do have a question about the issue: In the last panel on the last page, Mickey says, "...and so we'll be the Wizards of Mickey!*" Is there supposed to be a footnote on this page? That asterix made me think so, but there's nothing in my copy of MMF #296. I'm wondering if any other versions of the chapter have a footnote here, and if so, what it says.

Has anyone seen this before? Apologies if it has been discussed here before: Disney.com has this Comic Creator app with which you can create your own comic stories with scenes & characters from the very comics that Boom is now publishing.

There's DoubleDuck:

Wizards of Mickey:
http://disney.go.com/create/#/create/writer/comiccreator/wizardsofmickey/

I found it in today's Disney Insider email newsletter, which has an ad for Wizards of Mickey. Unfortunately I don't see any tie-ins with Boom comics. That's too bad; one of the six banners on the page could surely be for Boom's comics. Is this just some web application they copied from the Italian website?

The app only works for US citizens, I believe.

Do they actually have interface with a master list of all US citizens, cross-referenced with the list of computer owners and computer serial numbers? Or do you mean that the code from the Internet connection location has to be a US code for the application to be activated?

They probably use your IP address to find out where you are located. When you're outside the US you may be able to use a US proxy to bypass this check.
