Quote from user: LadyQuacklyI've seen plenty of TV shows that don't deserve any respect (at least not mine), though I guess that must seem an odd choice of word if you look at it in its most definite sense. So if we must compare apples to oranges: one can respect the work that went into the shows, i.e. the art, the voice-work, the story line, etc. etc. Or respect the feelings people had for the shows, not to mention what Disney stands for and meant to say many of us. But you see where I'm going with this.
Ah, OK. Now I get it.

Yeah, a lot of hard work probably went into those shows. And yes, it *would* be nice to see all episodes from those shows (and several other shows) out on DVD.

Thank you, and it surely would be nice. At least yet another phase of Walt Disney Treasures is coming out, and hopefully more will be forthcoming. :)

IMO, Ducktales is a show that deserves a certain level of respect. It helped paved the way for Disney's other television animation projects and was a catalyst in Warner Bros. decided to reopen their operations as well.

Amen to that! :) And it made reasonably good use of Carl Barks' stories, so that alone would give it merit. I wonder if it was the first of the Disney Afternoon cartoons?

I believe it was the first designed for syndication (Gummi Bears and the Wuzzles came out prior but were designed for Saturday mornings).
It aired on Fox at first (and was followed by The Real Ghostbusters)
In 1989 it moved to a syndicated station and was joined by Rescue Rangers to form "The Disney Hour."
A year later it was joined by Gummi Bears to form the earliest version of "The Disney Afternoon."

Quote from user: WBQuote from user: Lars JensenHow does one respect a TV show?! I can understand respecting a person or an opinion... but a TV show? In my opinion, entertainment should be liked or loved -- or just evoke some kind of emotional response. But *respected*?!

Hi LadyQuackly....

I am big fan of "Ducktales". In my childhood i have learned lot of thing from it.
In that i like 4 nephews of Uncle Duck...
Roger North
You mean Donald or Scrooge? Donald only has 3 nephews.
Kneon
Unless he means Webby too?
Roger North
Webby is not a nephew. Webby is a girl. She is the wrong gender to be a nephew. If they said four children that would made more sense.
Nefarious
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this, if it goes by this Nov. without a release, they'll be behind by 2 years on DT and one year behind on the next Tale Spin, too
And yeah, I want Fenton on DVD too, he's awesome, and very underrated and *ahem*cuteinhisownway*ahem*

Maybe his English isn't so good? Don't know.

2 years without DT? Wow, has it been that long? I'm beginning to think Disney has pretty much abandoned its DVD releases of Disney Afternoon shows...
