Why would you *want* to "write in 'Mickey Mouse' (or any other character)" on your Nov. 4 ballot? Do you not feel strongly about either candidate?positively or negatively?
I'm sorry, I feel that Disney characters Presidential politicos don't make at a time like this.

Since when do we get to VOTE for our kings (or Queens) or even Stathouder?

If I could vote for a Disney character for President or Prime Minister, I wouldn't, as it would be a wasted vote. But if you mean, "which Disney character would you like to see as Prime Minister or Governor of Calisota, that would be an interesting question. I did write a story in which Uncle Scrooge runs against Donald for the office of mayor of a town. But, I never considered them for higher office. Maybe it would be fun to see almost any of the main and secondary characters as Governor of Calisota or mayor of Duckburg or Mouseville. Goofy, Horace, Jones, Gladstone, Gyro, Grandma, the Jr. Woodchuck Leader, Porkman De Lardo/McSwine, Ms. Ramrod, Daisy, Donald, Scrooge, Gus, -just about any of them (other than Mickey or Minnie) would be interesting.

Too bad there isn't any other choice (with possibilities to win) in USA other than The Democrats and Republicans. I'd rather have The Silly Party (if they'd have a chance to win). At least they might represent the people.

What I meant was that some people have written in "Mickey Mouse" in the past when they didn't like any of the other people who were running. But how I feel about either candidate is personal.

As I said, Morequack, this was all in the spirit of FUN, and certainly not meant to push any "buttons".

Chill out man. I don't think she actually meant wasting a genuine vote on a disney character as that would be silly. It's not that deep. :)
WB, LadyQ opened with "As I write this, the fate of my country will be decided by the end of November 4..." Indeed, certain things trump even Disney comics. I understand that LadyQ wasn't suggesting scribbling "Mickey Mouse" on one's ballot. But the fate of *my* country is not a matter over which I'm able to "chill out," not while we finally teeter at the precipice like Frodo and Sam at the end of a too-long journey. America will be transformed?for better or for worse?and thus will the world be as well. Tomorrow it will be done. And tomorrow half of America will be jubilant while half will be in mourning?and perhaps so for at least four more years when yet a new hope will emerge. Yes, "it is the doom of men that they forget"?but come tomorrow, many will wish they could.

Damn, politics does strange things to men?and I am no exception.

If I had to choose from the duck family, I think I would vote for Huey, Dewey and Louie. Even though Donald has a good heart, the nephews are more responsible than their uncle, and they're clearly very intelligent. One may read "The Golden Helmet", where even Donald thinks about becoming America's emperor:

You do realize of course that Scrooge would be the penultimate Capitalist/Republican. Not much of a third party there.

And cacou, the Philadelphis Phillies baseball team won the World Series. In the U.S. when one wants to sort of change the subject and avoid an issue, one customarily talks of a sports team/event by declaring, "How about those Lakers...." for example.

Well, I realize one can't vote on monarchy (though in extreme cases, you can probably make them abdicate), but you see where I'm going with this. ;)

Personally, much as I love Donald Duck, I don't think I'd want him for President---I just wouldn't trust him around that nuclear button... :P
