Quote from user: Roger NorthI know that Scrooge was potrayed as a villain in some of the older stories but I can't imagine him being a villain in the modern stories.
Well, in the aforementioned story he's a villain in the sense of being greedy and uncaring. Not in the sense of, say, being a smuggler.

Well Maybe so but I still think it's a negative way to potray Scrooge.

All those stories with comic book publishers look interesting. Were they published also in The Netherlands? Somehow, I must have missed them, because I never read the pocket books. But, we don't get as many pockets released here as they do in Scandinavia and Germany, anyway.

I think very few Brazilian stories were published in the Netherlands, or in Scandinavia or Finland. Only in South America, France and Italy as far as I know (and probably other Spanish/Poruguese speaking countries like Spain/Portugal).

Thanks. I hope, then, that due to the interest in the unusual topic of comic book production by The Ducks, themselves, perhaps Gemstone can be persuaded to print them?

Quote from user: Lars JensenQuote from user: JeffTCarl Barks had Scrooge owning a whaling line in the 70s. :)
Of course the whole reason was for an environmental message (he often cast Scrooge as the villain who gets his eyes opened by HDL in those Woodchuck stories).
In this age, it's hard to imagine any writer taking Scrooge in that direction though, yes I agree.
Scrooge will be shown as a villain in an upcoming story, similar to how he was portrayed in the 1970s Woodchuck stories.
One of yours, Lars? Looking forward to it if/when it's released here in English. I enjoy your work.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your story in the "A Little Something Special" Gemstone trade. My 9 yr old son loved it, especially the twist at the end. :) I don't know if you consider it a highlight of your work or not, but I just wanted to let you know that for him at least it was a lot of fun.

Yeah, one of mine. It should be published here in Egmontland within the next six months or so. That doesn't mean it will necessarily come out in the US, of course.

Thanks. Nice to know he enjoyed "Whatever Happened to Scrooge McDuck?" -- and I was pretty happy with that ending myself. :)

Lars,- did you write a story telling what happened to Uncle Scrooge AFTER the current period in his life (When Donald is a young adult, and Huey, Dewey and Louie are in elementary school)? Something like the "Whatever Happened to Scrooge" Hamburger (Der) Donaldist Sonderheft of that name, which had guest artists such as Don Rosa, Daan Jippes, Marco Rota, Freddy Milton and Jan Gulbransson draw a one-panel cartoon showing what happened to him in later times?

I lookedup your story in COA under D2005-70, Uncle Scrooge, Lars Jensen, and the search reveals no story. Has it not been indexed yet?

It's 070, not 70.
Printed in the Dutch Donald Duck 35/2007, in fact, so you should be able to find a copy somewhere.

The only thing I know about the Fearsome Five is that they fought the New Teen Titans on a few occasions. I'm guessing this is another group of villains?
EDIT: Ah, I get it. The Fearsome Five who fought Darkwing Duck, right? Sorry, I can't help you with that.
