I'm guessing the Pixar style animation would market better as that is how 98% of the cartoon-like movies are done these days. (Alvin and the Chipmunks,...) I think this notion of animation bridges the gap between cartoons and video games and tags the attention of younger audiences more than that of actual cartoons of the 70's,80's and 90's did with us. Any format would be well appreciated, but I am visualizing what would be most realistic.

Quote from user: Mcduck_EnterprisesI think there could be a resurgence of identity with the ducks...I mean just look at what Ducktales did to us in the 1980's. ....
That's an optimistic and realistic view of the Ducks. The truth is that a lot of these types of characters come and go, wax and wane.
When this new "Tintin" movie comes out, people will be grabbing the comics again. Somewhere, 5 years ago, somebody on some mailing list was saying "Should there be a movie based on 'Tintin?' Will it be live action? Animated?"

Yeah! Tintin was also one of my faves on the TV when I could catch it. It was always on at wierd times. Somehow, I always related Snowy with the live action dog, Wishbone!
In relation to the other comments, there are really 2 THINGS Disney was founded on: Mice and Ducks....the fairy tales came later. While I did not know at the time that Ducktales was inspired by Carl, I thought the stories and characters, (that had been built over years of CB's stories, garnering them a success due to this, instead of new hack Disney characters of the 80's...ahem**Bonkers,) made up the finest animated show of its time. I still think it holds the test of time...My 6YO LOVES the DVD's! That is why for the optimism! There is no question that the ducks will and should hold a popular light in the future...and heck, why not another feature, movie or animated show? It is so possible! :)

You're right McDuck Enterprises. There's no reason why there can't be another show about the Disney Ducks. Maybe they can have a new show called Duckburg USA or Duck Tales The Next Generation or something like that.

I SO agree with you, Roger!!! :) But as everyone else says, only if it could be traditional hand-drawn animation (or if it has to be CGI, at least none of that 3-dimensional stuff).
I've even though of voices for the characters...I think I'll start a seperate thread on this one. ;)

That's a good idea Lady Quackly. I already responded to it.

I think it's possible to create a successful 2D adaptation of "Life and Times." DC's recently enjoyed success with direct to video adaptations of popular stories like "New Frontier." Likewise Marvel and Mike Mingola's Hellboy. The character designs might have to be simplified for animation but as long as the project is headed up by a capable producer like Tad Stones or Greg Weisman I don't see any reason why the story wouldn't make a good DTV
