It's still used that way in Germany. But only with old people in The Netherlands (I am old!). I visited Poland in 1988, while it was still (but barely) Communist.

TV TROPES pade did almost exelent job in pointing out key diffrences betwen Glomgold's and Rockerduck's personalities and roles
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/DisneyDucksComicUniverse
BTW -> They mentioned an Italian story when Rockerduck thought Scrooge was dead and honestly grieved for him... sounds interesting

Mr. M, thanks for posting the link to the TV Tropes page. For a TV-related site, the author(s) here show a whole lot of familiarity with the duck comics! And international duck comics, not just from one country. I found their character summaries very interesting--and it's fun to relate the features of the ducks to common themes in other forms of entertainment. I only wish I could find some of the stories they refer to--but sadly, no titles or story codes cited for most of them.

BTW -> I love that they pointed out how cool the Polish name for Flinthart Glomgold sounds in Polish - Granit Forsant ("Granit" = Granite, and Forsant is from "Forsa" = "Cash") ;)

Too bad only so few Disney comics are 'troped'. Then again, they made a good point about that on the It's A Wonderful Plot trope, which has four entries on Disney comics: (Donald Duck comics will ruminate any trope to infinity) It would require a LOT of work. I think they'd need a seperate wiki for that.

Plus It's hard to join Tv Tropes page since from what I recall you need recomendations ...
I check out the "It's a Wonderful plot" trope and I was supprise that there where some many other comics using this plot idea. I know it will sound strange but I find the entire "It's a Wonderful life" conecpt of "Showing somebody world if he wasn't born extremly creepy, unpleasant and dark no matter what the out come... I don't know it's just to heavy for me...

BTW! Just to backup the whole "Glomgold kills people all the time [especially McDuck]" argument. Here is a example from non-Barks, non-Rosa and non-DuckTales story :
http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=D+2011-029
In this another delightfull Byron Erickson/Flemming Andersen team-up Glomgold is trying to stop Scrooge and Gladstone to reach a certain destination and on the way he tries to kill Scooge and Gladstone not once, not twice but three times, most notably by pushing a hudge avalanche of gigantic bolders on Scrooges car... naturally thanks to Gladstone's luck Scrooge manages to survive and in fact all atemps to kill Scrooge go all Wile E. Coyote on Glomgold [spoiler?] but still it was prett ruthles on Glomgold side...
BTW -> While it's a amusing story what I find bizarre is the fact Flinty is the quote on quote "marquee character". Which is odd since he play the role of the villian (just spents whole story making deadly traps and get's injure in amusing way when they backfire) while the plot focuse on Scrooge/Gladstone stuff.
It has a funny twist with Grandma Duck forcing Scrooge to take Gladstone (and not Donald) on his new adventure thinking it's unfair to Gladstone Scrooge never takes him on his adventures, while at the same time she force Gladstone (who don't want to go) to go with Scrooge so they both are stuck with each other going "yhe, I don't want this as well"... Amusing stuff :)

From what I got the story is "A Little something special" type of villian revange with Glomgold being the big masterimind behind the plot this time.
From a fan boy point of view this is pretty exiting since those two characters (Glomgold and Rockerduck) NEVER had any interactions (well ok, exept for like one story but it was only for two panels so it's bearly counts) so this story can very well establish they relationship for any future stories since now they startet using Glomgold in pocket stories and vice versa...

If you ask me I think Flintheart would make a better adversary for Scrooge than John would. I think that John is a lame character.

The story I mentioned long, long time ago above :
http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=I+TL+2985-1P
finaly arive in my country. I read it today and I must say...
...IT'S ONE OF BEST UNCLE SCROOGE STORIES I READ IN A VERY LONG TIME! The script is trully epic.
With all the respect to Don Rosa the script is honestly felt like a better version of "A Little Something special" (and I like that story A LOT!) In fact it has some simialr ideas. I would even go as far as call it a remake (or at least a quasi-remake).
In the story the Beagle Boys, Rockerduck, Magica De Spell and Flinthearth Glomgold team-up to destroyed Scrooge's empire and get their goals once and for all. Scrooge is broken but step by step (and with the help of his friends and family) tries to regain his fortune. In many ways this is Scrooge version of "Knightfall" (a fameuse Batman story with similar bits)
The plot is very complex and well put together. There is plenty of time for good humor [especialy from the Beagle Boys], characters to have moments [including few trully charming parts] and all of our Duckburg firendis get their "five minutes" and plays some part in the story. We even get's an apperance from Terries and Fermies. I also like nice in-joke where Magica get's turn into a fairy [long story] and she get's a dress that's looks like a W.I.T.C.H. costume.
And yes - one of the main atractions is in fact seeing Glomgold and Rockerduck workof each other. They actually get to have pretty good chemistry and story makes a good job of showing their character difrences.
I like the idea that it's Rockerduck who puts the team rogether but soon Glomgold takes over as the evil mastermind.
I guess some people [like Geox] will HATE the fact that Glomgold is presented as complite monster while all other villians are shown as more-less sympatethic and human. At one point Srooge even tells Rockerduck "Your not evil. Your just stupid. Glomgold is the inmoral one."
I don't mind it as I got use to Glomgold being biggest threat of of Scrooge rougs gallery so it's fit him.
The only part I didn't care for is few scenes of Donald becoming his Duck Avanger alter-ego as I honestly don't care for the character but it's brief...
I'm not sure will the story willbe ever publish in English [BTW -> there are some parts where character's point guns at ech other which may get censored in some countries] but as for my money one of best Scrooge's stories I've seen in years.
