I was at the "Festival of the Masters" (http://bit.ly/btJqu) art festival at Downtown Disney last Saturday. Most of the festival was about non-Disney artists, but there were some Disney stands with artists signing their prints. These were not comics artists but regular Disney merchandise artists and in-house designers who also make special paintings like these found in the "Art of Disney" store:

Here are some pictures of Disney comics-related artwork that I saw. The first one is by Costa Alavezos of the Disney Design Group:

The following two are by David Willardson (http://davidwillardson.com/):

I also found this print of Scrooge McDuck. It was in a display with other Disney characters in the same style.

There was also a stand for the new Disney Universe video game and there were 2 artists drawing characters. However these were not people that worked on the game. The guy in the back said that he normally works at the Animation Academy attraction at Hollywood Studios.

Ouch! I doubt Scrooge would even pay that much for his own head!

This statue looks awesome.

What material is it made from? It is not like PVC right? Maybe tin?

Looks as though Uncle Scrooge hasn't been completely lost to the new generation of gamers, here's a preview screenshot from the upcoming "Epic Mickey: Power Of Illusion" for Nintendo 3DS:

Looks like the studio is sticking with a DuckTales color scheme for Uncle Scrooge this time around. There's no release date, but I expect it in late 2012 to coincide with "Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two"

I saw these kids' swimming trunks at Animal Kingdom the other day. They have comic book panels with Donald, Mickey and Goofy:

It's cool enough seeing Scrooge, but how did Disney get the okay to use Marvin the Martian?

A few months ago I was able to purchase a heavy metal Polistil money bin. I got it for an exceptionally good price because it's missing both the box and the Uncle Scrooge figure in the front of the bin. I had wanted this piece for a long time. I like having the box but I always end up putting them in a drawer anyway and the Scrooge to me was way out of proportion next to the bin. I also like having collectables that aren't worth 10 million dollars and that I can touch or leave out on a shelf without worrying about them.

Today I was in Toys R Us and I found a little Donald Duck car and an Uncle Scrooge limousine (no figures) on sale for 99 cents each. They are die cast metal and made by Motorama. They are 2"-2 1/4" long, made in China, and are part of a Classic Collection licensed by Disney. I'm sorry I'm unable to post photos. They look great parked out in front of my Polistil Uncle Scrooge money bin! If you happen to live near a Toys R Us you should check these out. They're pretty nice!

These?
Patrick Hanifin
Yes, those are the ones! Thank you for posting the link, Arild. They are made of metal and plastic with quite a bit of detail... and they even roll well, too. The Donald, the one I like the best, has 313 license plate stickers on the bumpers.
