I checked up on the Bruce Hamilton/Another Rainbow/Gladstone website (www.brucehamilton.com) today for the first time in a few months, and it was replaced by a placeholder. In shock, I was about to post a worried topic about it, but I checked it again just a few minutes ago, and it was back up. I guess Steve Calrow forgot to pay the bill. :P
It would be a massive blow if it were to REALLY disappear. It's the cheapest and easiest source for some of the best Disney comics ever produced, along with a ton of other Disney (and some non-Disney) odds 'n' ends.
Oh, and it's my first post. Hello, everybody. :)
I'll defend Don Rosa to the death!!! Down with Barks snobs!!!*
*Slight exaggerations.

Really? No Barks snobs? Aw, darn! Maybe I need to find the Barks Snobs forum, then. :p
While Barks' (and Gottfredson's) stories are my personal favorites, I wouldn't call myself a Barks snob. I've been known to enjoy some Strobl, Van Horn, Murry, Casty, and even Rosa stories now and then.

When it comes to Disney comics, I like pretty much everything. Most stories, most characters. (Some more than others, of course.)

I do notice, however, that the e-mail contact person seems to be a "HelenH". Has there been a change in management of the website?

The same address is on the ordering info page as well. I guess Bruce's widow decided to become more hands-on.

Hopefully they have just server issues at their hosting company.
Steve Calrow is still the contact person for the domain.

On the topic of Barks snob - I'm wondering what that really means. If I got it right, isn't (ironically) Don Rosa a Barks snob, because for him pretty much only Barks counts. Just wondering - and by the way I don't really see being a Barks snob a bad thing really - after all Carl Barks is pretty much our God and Savior :P But I do think that you should be open to other outside additions to the comics.
By the way, welcome Synthetic Hermit.

I, too, am a Barks snob. And, I guess, I'm a Gottfredson snob, as well.

Does "Barks snob" just mean someone whose favorite duck artists is Barks? If so, it seems like just about everyone would qualify (eight of the ten top-rated stories on inducks are Barks efforts, fercryinoutloud!). Or does it mean someone who a priori dismisses everything by anyone other than Barks? In that case, it seems like very few people would qualify. The term doesn't seem hugely useful in either case.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm a fan of both Barks and Rosa stories and any other of type of Disney Comic Artists. I wouldn't call myself a snob though. That is insulting.
