The albums are "labours of love", so it depends. If they sell well and the response is good from the readers they might do the sundays until Taliaferro's run ends and beyond that. But it will take around 20 years to complete Taliaferros run.
Sooo... I dunno.

I have the first one in front of me. It contains the first 63 Sunday strips (from 1936-37). All text in Swedish. The publication has been published annually since 1941 containing various Donald Duck Sunday strips, but this year the publisher decided to print the first ones from the start. If the series is to continue with 63 Sunday strips in chronological order at the usual publication rate, it will take a long time until it will reach the end.

I've started writing the book, have lots of great information, and have done lots of interviews, including several interviews with Taliaferro's wife before she died and interviews with some of his co-workers. My agent hasn't found a publisher who will commit to the book yet, so we are still working on that part. I'd be interested in knowing how those on this forum feel about whether there's a good market for a book about Taliaferro. His contribution to the creation to Donald Duck is enormous, but I don't know how many people actually know that.

Check with University Press of Mississippi if they are interested. They have published several books about comic authors.

You should also get in touch with Didier Ghez: dghez at hotmail dot com
( Maybe this could be a part of his "Walt's people" book series? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=1450087469/didierghezsdisneA/ )
Good luck with the book and please keep us updated!

I've been reading Taliaferro's strips through the following link: [...]. Here in Brazil, Disney comic readers just care about Barks/Rosa, but Taliaferro owned a fantastic sense of humor indeed. Is there some prejudice against him because he just wrote comic strips and not full stories?

You shouldn't post links to illegal sites!
Not that I mind, but it's the policy here
(and I guess Lars Jensen will pop up in a moment and tell you exactly the same)
But I don't think that any of us are prejudicial against him. He just did what he did best - and in a funny way, too...

The name "Wrath of Jensen" sticks with me. :)

Thanks, Hedberg. Yes, it's the policy here. (This particular link was removed before I even saw the post, by the way.)

I have no sympathy for trolls. If I had written something like that about you or any of the other users here, I would be endlessly criticized for it.
I've read Disney comics for decades. I'm a fan. I try to enjoy myself here and to interact with fellow fans on a fan-to-fan basis. Why is it so important to try to provoke me? (That's a rhetorical question.)

I don't know if I completely understand it, but I'm not trying to be a troll. Somebody else gave a link to that site a while ago, on which somebody else responded something like: "Oh, great. Now you're going to invoke the Wrath of Jensen." I found it funny and it just stuck with me. Don't get me wrong, though, you're right about that the link should be removed. You won't hear endlessly critisism from me.

He/she responded that way specifically to provoke and/or mock me. Which is why it isn't funny to me. (And no, I'm not crying myself to sleep over that phrase. :) I just don't see the value in mocking people rather than respecting them.)

I don't think it's necessarily a prejudice if those short comic strips don't appeal so much to one. I do fully acknowledge and prize Karp and Taliaferro as pre-Barksian prophets of Donald Duck, but being honest I must admit that my interest for their strip work is much lower than for the work of Barks or of other great creators of long stories in later times. It's surely not the prejudice of the ignorant that is here at work; actually I do read all Taliaferro strips I come across, and I also bought the collection of sunday strips that was started (and soon ceased) here years ago. I'd say it's indeed the limited scope of the gag strip compared with the long story that makes the first one of only secondary interest for many, even if Karp and Taliaferro did excellent work on the field of the gag strip. However, I also find Barks' one- and half-pager gags comparatively "uninteresting".

Taliaferro did draw one 30-(mini-pages) page story (equivalence of 10 pages) for the Wheaties 1951 giveaways. I think Bob Karp wrote it. It was a spy story (decently written).

Should it be among these? Clicking through the single publications, I did not come across a long Taliaferro work there, though ...

Sorry! I meant to say it was a Cheerios Giveaway, from 1947. It is THIS one:
http://coa.inducks.org/issue.php?c=us%2FCGW+X+1 It has 30 pages of one-tier (equivalent of 10 pages).
