Not him, but it's an old story from the 50's.

Quote from user: Lars JensenMarga, it seems. She drew one of my stories a few years ago... and did some nice artwork.

And yes, Milton + Marga looks pretty different from Freddy on his own. Guess it proves that an inker can influence the final art.

That's an understatement. We certainly learned that from seeing the difference between Tony Strobl's 1952-1958 work, and his 1959-1978 work.

Hey, it's Bob Moore again! :)
OS 353.
But what I really want to know is mo(o)re about that piece of original pencil art.
Do you have a snapshot of the full page? Got any story on how it survived?
Always nice to see some surviving art from the early 50's!

(Will get back with a new "Who is the artist?" in a day or two.)

Correct! The Eagle Egg :)

It was sold at an auction in December '97.
I don't know how it survived from the 50ies.

Probably, during the 1960s, when Western Publishing Editors/policy makers decided to burn '50s original pencil drawings (as the inked pages were on photostats), a Western employee "rescued it", for a "souvenir", or to give someone as a gift.

Good answer Joakim! NIce.

Did u manage to find a new picture yet?

Edit: lol, we both posted at 19:22. Never mind.

OK, here we go!

This is an artist known for his work on the Disney characters,
but a few years ago he did a cover for Swedish "Bamse".
Who? (The title on the cover has been twirled to make it a bit harder.)

And a "bonus" image by another artist to keep the "theme" of this thread going. ;)
Who is the artist? A gold star award to the first who gets it right. ;)

Edit: snowmansion, what are the odds? :)

Lol, haha the odds are high.. in turns out..;)
Is picture number one: Bo Michanek?
Number 2.. No idea. Maybe an old American Artist?, I would guess. Which is not an answer. But a question I would guess :).
Joakim Gunnarsson
1) It's not Michanek.
Michanek did lot's of Bamse covers and interior Bamse artwork in addition to his Disney covers.
But the artist I'm looking for only did this piece of work for Bamse.

2) Yep, it's an american artist.

The second one is finally a Dick Moores drawing, the "theme" of this thread.
The first one seems like Whatshisname Tello, but I have no idea.

Yes it worked!
I just knew of this.
Anybody who's willing to tell me the story behind this piece of history?

Yes! It's a Dick Moores drawing! :) A gold star to you!
But it's not Tello who did the first drawing.

Not Jippes, but ... pretty close.
