Erm... Lyla... LAY? Do they realize that in English, "lay" is often used as a slang term for sex?
... hmm... they probably do. ;)
Nefarious
Disney could be good (if you want to call it that?) ;) at making sutble things like that both on their shows and in the comics, sadly nowdays that type of hmor is much more blatant (much prefer the more ingenuity of the subtlty, makes one think, and all) :)

Just watch Phineas and Ferb. It makes sense. Yes, yes it does. And lots of subtle references to pretty much everything. :)
They work out in the 23rd century!

Wow. We sure have come a long way since Western made Unca Carl flatten out the duck girl Donald was flirting with back in WDC 33, haven't we? :D

Not a complaint, mind you... ;)

Hopefully it's not too link-whorish of me to note that I wrote a relevant blog post a while back.

Layla Lay is sexy for an anthromorphized duck. I think Jessica Rabbit and Tinkerbelle are both kind of sexy too. Ariel and Jasmine are also sexy. So is Esmeralda.

Don't forget Kay K from the the Double Duck / Donald stories..... and Magica is also a given.

Lyla comes from Italian-produced Disney comics. In Italian stories, many names have been created based on what they sound like -- not necessarily what the words mean in English. So you have characters named Thomas Duckis and Lord Money, even though those names may sound strange to American ears.

(It's the same with Egmont's TNT stories. We have a character named Kolik, because we thought the name sounded good. For all I know, "Kolik" can mean something terrible in Albanian.)

Ah -- thanks for the explanation, Lars! I thought they were aiming for a "Bond girl" style double entendre.

I never heard of Kay K. Then again I never heard Layla Lay prior to when I stumbled across this thread. I think Magica is okay if you like the villianous types.

Thanks. Kay K is sexy. I forgot about Gandra Dee.

I enjoy looking at sexy beauties as much as the next guy??but come on, there's nothing more ludicrous-looking than ducks with breasts and curvy thighs, and I don't mean the flame-grilled kind from El Pollo Loco. These Italian (I'm guessing) jobs are way over the top. Just draw a duck bill on Sophia Loren and be done with it.
