I mentioned this before, but I wish that some Ethinc German-American Stores in the U.S.A. would sell German Duck Comics....
But I also wonder in Disney Duck Comics are big in other regions in the world besides Europe, Brazil, and The U.S.A.?

I suppose the question is about currently available comics. The mentioned website is great but when you study the pages you'll notice that most publications have ceased. For instance, in Russia the only Disney comic book that's still officially published (apart from stuff like Winnie the Pooh, Cars, Toy Story etc) is "Mickey Mouse". But even that one can't be found in shops & kiosks any more. In some European countries, like Germany, Italy, Netherlands or Finland it is much better, with dozens of weekly, monthly, bi-monthly etc publications. There are also some (active) publications in the Arab countries, Turkey, China, Hong-Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia (quite a few), Japan (Disney-related, not sure about the comic stuff though). In India most (all) publications ceased. Same seems to be true for Australia and Mexico. But one should really live in a country to know for sure if new Disney comics are currently being sold in shops or not.

I think if we exclude USA, Brazil and Europe, then Indonesia is sure to get the 1st prize in that regard, followed by China/HongKong. There are currently several Disney magazines published in Indonesia, including the legendary "Paman Gober" (Uncle Scrooge). Most of them are European-type pocket size publications and some are printed in b/w.

Hey! What are you talking about? "Mickey Mouse Russian Edition" stop publish in the summer of 2011, as and "Disney Comix"! Today in Russia there is no published comic magazine about ducks and mice, sadly, but it's true!

Sad, indeed :(

Our one has just switched from weekly to bi-weekly, and has removed the toys from most issues in order to increase the page number (32->40, incl. covers). Its fate in the future is still uncertain.

On the upside, however, the pocket-size 3-tier "Macrocomics" (192 pg.) is doing fine and will switch to monthly this year :) And the Mickey Mouse page change is even featured in an ad at the official Disney website (www.disney.bg).

Every month we post here Disney Checklist for Brazil: http://www.planetagibi.net/search/label/Checklist%20Disney
January is an atypical month, with few releases, by the way.
Next month we will have a new title, "Walt Disney Apresenta", starting with the fabulous Brazilian saga "A História de Patópolis" (Duckburg's History), that is celebrating 30 years.

You are right. Must have missed that moment. Mickey Mouse hasn't been sold at stands and kiosks for ages anyway. All of that makes things even worse.

Hey, I have that saga in Italian "Mega Almanacco" edition. It is great with lots of funny moments.

How did you Russians get your books, then? All by subscription?

What books? From the U.S., Italy or Germany? Auctions, online stores, ebay, etc. From Russia, when they were? Shops, kiosks etc.

Yes, I meant the Russian comic books. Artemi mentioned they haven't been sold at newsstands for years, so I wondered where you got them from.

Aaa!)) Find it difficult, but possible, at least in Moscow! In the province was more difficult! And now there is nothing to look for!((

So a lot of countries have stopped publishing Disney comics?
That's very, very sad, especially for children :( Because "superheroes" comics aren't as family/kid friendly as Donald/Mickey comics, and the other kids comics like Winnie or Cars are pure "marketing" products, to sell toys.

To me, the Disney comics need to be published in modern ways, ie computers, Ipad, phones etc... to be successful. Kids nowadays don't really care for printed content, they much prefer to read on screens because it attracts them.
I know Disney has tried that, but honestly, they don't put much efforts into it. No promotion, no support, expensive prices, limited availability...
If Disney did make it possible to buy comics on a regular PC computer, I would buy hundreds of comics!!!

I live in Saint-Petersburg and haven't seen "Mickey Mouse" in shops (or anywhere else) for at least 4 or 5 years now.
