Quote from user: arthurI was at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure here in Orlando the other day and they have a large area dedicated to the Marvel characters. Apparently Universal has exclusive rights to use the characters in their theme park for as long as Universal continues to operate the Marvel area, so I guess that Disney's acquisition of Marvel does not affect this.
But what I found ironic was that they have a large comic shop inside the theme park with lots and lots of Marvel comics. The picture below is just a small part of the shop. So whereas Disney comics are rarely found in the Disney theme parks, these Marvel comics, which are now owned by Disney, are actually prominently displayed inside Universal Studios. :/

Very cool - I was also at Universal the first week of this October and visited the comic shop in the park. I read somewhere Disney is still allowing Universal to have the Marvel Superhero Islands of Adventure area (which features all Marvel characters exclusively,) regardless of their new ownership of Marvel - because they have some sort of mutual sales agreement grandfathering Universal in.
I also saw at the main gift store (in the front of the Islands of Adventure park,) they were selling multiple copies of The Simpsons Comics #102 which parodies Carl Barks and the ducks (check it out if you've never seen!). I already have this comic, but it was really neat to see stacks of it for sale there as it was released back in January 2005.

In Kwik-E-Mart store next to Krustyland at Universal Studios they also had a wall of The Simpsons comics and TPBs. There are probably not many other comic shops in this country that get so many visitors every day.
