It's a shame Neighbor Jones has never been animated. He could have easily found his way into a few Quack Pack storylines or even the new Mickey Mouse shorts.
Maybe it could be inspired by the Neighbor Jones stories but I'm not sure. This short also remind me of some Neighbor Jones stories by Carl Barks. I think that it would be great to see him animated because he is one of the "comic-only" characters that should appear in some cartoon series.

It is such fun to get off topic! It is also fun to research things on the World Wide Web and discover new bits of trivia. Neighbor Jones' first name was Jughead, according to the Disney.wikia site:

He first appeared in Walt Disney's Comics & Stories #34 in 1943. But it was in the December 1941 issue of Pep Comics (#22) that Archie Andrews' pal Jughead Jones made his first appearance. Jughead's real name is Forsythe Pendleton Jones III. Was Barks aware of Archie's friend when he created Neighbor Jones? I'm guessing that he was not. Now I have to try to find out where Barks used Neighbor Jones' first name in a comic-book story. It's fun to research things on the Wo.......well, never mind---I already said that.
