While this is welcome news, it seems suspicious that the classics are finally being given attention at the same time the Muppets and Pixar books have quietly disappeared from Previews, just as predicted.
It looks like Boom is trying to finally give fans what they want, but perhaps too little too late?

Don't Be so negative Vesivius We can't assume that Boom is going out of business unless they actually do.

Hah! We're certainly switching some things up, but definitely not going out of business!

Full Steam Ahead. Surprises await you just around the corner!

Best,

I never meant to imply Boom was going out of business; it seems their regular stuff does well enough. It's just their kids line that seems to be having trouble finding a market.
Chip, why are the Pixar books absent from Previews? I get shaking things up, but some of those books disappeared from solicitation while in the middle of a storyline. Are they going to at least finish?

Maybe they don't know if they're going to sell very well.

I like this cover by Daan Jippes for WDC&S 715:

Wow!! That's really great!
Dutch Duckfan Down Under
Ah! The cover for the golden anniversary of the Dutch Donald Duck Weekly! Great cover indeed! They are a year late though. But I really like Boom's coloring! Now if they only would put in one of the Dutch anniversary stories from 1992 or 2002. The (very great) story for the 2000th issue in 1991 can be read in Donald Duck 300 (Gladstone).

I was wondering if it was a new cover or not. I did not recognize it.
What year / issue of Donald Duck Weekblad was it on?

The cover rocks, especially Little Helper!
Dutch Duckfan Down Under
I was mistaken. It wasn't published for the 50th anniversary (that was a stupid yellow cover), but for the 40th, on DD 43-1992:

Thanks! I found it in my collection. All my Dutch Donald Duck weeklies are still packed up since moving to the US two years ago. It's a shame, but at least they stay nice. ;)

Here's a large scan of the original cover:

Hmm. Suddenly silence. Must be one of those "surprises waiting around the corner."
