Well, Donald Duck & Co. are after all Disney characters, the artists get a fixed price for every page, and they see nothing more for reprints of "their" stories: that is the basic deal, and everybody accepts it (or has to, more or less). Besides that, the artists are freelancers and self-responsible, and I guess it is up to everyone to "know his worth" and try to handle out the best conditions and gratification for everything beyond as he likes. So if someone has no problem that the publishers "make money with his name"--okay. But if Don Rosa does have a problem with it and tries to get out as much as he can for himself--also okay ... or understandable, at least.

Very excited to see these offerings. I enjoy the TPBs I've seen from Boom so far.
As for Rosa, I feel bad for the guy. He's widely seen as one of the all-time great Disney artists but it's not like he can retire and live the life of luxury as a result of his work.
Many of us would love to do what he does, but the reality is that it's not very profitable.

This is pure speculation on my part, but it seems possible to me that they could be planning on excluding all the non-comics content--which would seem to defeat a substantial portion of the point of this entire exercise, but which would probably account for the discrepancy.

I agree that an archive of WDC&S should include all pages from cover to cover. I have a similar book with the first few issues of Dutch Donald Duck Weekly from 1952 right here and the greatest things about it is that all the articles, letters, advertisements and stories are included. It is fun to read this and it is like owning the original. An archive with just the stories would not have any added value in my opinion. But you're right, this is only speculative at the moment and hopefully BOOM! will do the right thing.

I've got that book too (and three others) and hope indeed that they're going to do it exactly like that, even the white border.
