Still trying to decide if I want another copy of "The Life and Times". I already have the first printings from Uncle Scrooge and the Gemstone trades. I have the Christmas Classics that Boom! released and it is a nice hardcover, but the price seems a little high for these, even when buying through Amazon where they are available for $16.49.
Thanks for the info, guess I will have to start deciding, because if it is like the other editions it will sell out.

Neither do I know if I want a new copy. I don't have the original Gladstone's, but I do have the Dutch reprints and the Gemstone books. But the problem with the Gemstone books is, that the glue isn't sticky enough for the book. Ever heard of a broken book? I've seen one.

I'm looking forward to it. I pre-ordered it at Amazon. The price seems to be fair.

Yeah, this one's a "no" for me too. While the hardcover would be nice, and I wish to support BOOM! in further endeavors of Disney comics, I already have the Gemstone softcover trades and the single Gladstone issues in my collection. I can see how it is beneficial for those who couldn't get them the first couple of times they were released....they went fast and it is one of the more popular gatherings of modern Scrooge stories. I suppose I do enough support to BOOM! trying to track down all of the alternate covers of Scrooge issues. Yes, I know some may think that's a waste of time, but since it's the only book I really follow, it's nice for me to have some excitement in "collecting" again.

My interest in Uncle Scrooge comics in general has been waning as of recent. After purchasing the first Boom! issue I have quit collecting for the first time in decades. In fact, I'm entertaining the notion of selling off my complete line of Uncle Scrooge comics. All it does is sit pristinely in acetate and acid-free cardboard, taking up space. As hard as that might be, I just don't seem to read much of Ducks anymore and just "having" the books is not exciting as acquiring them once was. Still, I think the hardest ones to let go would be my mouth-watering mint copies of the Gladstone issues related to the L&T, which are probably the dearest ones to me, along with most other Rosa issues, including #310.
It's a tough decision to make.
My wife is all excited about the idea. :D

I am confused, Gladstone became Gemstone; but now Gemstone is gone, so why not just public all Disney comics under Marvel?

Because Disney sold the Standard Characters license to BOOM several months before they bought Marvel.
And Gladstone didn't become Gemstone. Part of the staff was the same, though.

Well I wish they could unite all under a single publishg tag; unless Boom becomes a sub to Marvel; same as Slave Labor who publishes Gargoyles.

I might be wrong, but I believe SLG no longer has the Gargoyles license.

I'm all over this. I hope it's at the very least the same presentation as the Gemstone version or better.

Morequack - this is for you. Don't sell. Pack them up and don't think about them for awhile. You will miss them. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow - but someday. Sure, the new Boom issues really really pale in comparison to the Barks and Rosa stuff, but heck, time will pass, Uncle Scrooge will proceed past #400 and things are bound to get better. Stop collecting if you want, sell your doubles and other books, but don't sell the run you put together already.....I have bought and sold and collected so much crap over the years but always hung onto my Scrooge books. They only get pricier.....It's a library I will hand down thru the family. Just my 2 cents..........

Thanks, I appreciate the advise. Need to percolate on it some more.
