I just finished reading the Norwegian reprint of Taliaferro's 1942 Donald
Duck daily strips.
Unfortunately, in this edition the strips from February 2-7 has been omitted
and replaced by a note that reads: "These strips were made during the war
and contain too strong sentiments to be reproduced".
So now I'm curious: Could anybody tell me what these 6 strips were about,
and if they can be found somewhere (either in print or on the WWW)?

As far as I remember - can't check the actual strips now - the sequence had
nothing to do with the war, but was about Donald and the kids dealing with
an American Indian tribe. So, the (absurd, IMHO) censorship is probably
motivated by the presence of racial stereotypes in the strips.

of these dailies from microfilm. I believe I have already sent
photocopies to a few persons but guess I could do it again. I am,
however, leaving for Canada and the US in a few days and will be away
a couple of weeks, so it might take a while.

show Donald trying to cheat the Indians. When I was living in Texas a

Hi ,
I came across a Mickey Mouse B&W "short", late 20s or early 30s, 16mm film titled "The Cook". I am quite familiar with Mickey Mouse Filmography. This title is not listed anywhere. I do not have a projector so I have not watched the movie. But, I have scanned some frames from the beginning of the film. The sequences are totally unfamiliar. Would you happen to have any idea if this is a significant find? I can forward these to you in JPEG format; the scans are 100 - 400kb. Do you know any other knowledgable indivuduals I can consult with?

I very much enjoyed your pictures from Aarhus. Thanks for posting them. I especially like the "Did I Draw That?" one of Don. The second one of Rosa was a mystery until I ran it through my photo editor to lighten it- I think that one needs to be titled "Don giving a speech in a Dark Room at Midnight" (just kidding)

If you have the rest of the Little Hen strips from Le Journal de Mickey I would be very interested in reading those too. They look like a lot of the artist's interpretation is different from the animated cartoon.
