What's this I hear about Don Rosa's next story (featuring the Three
Caballeros) being split up over three issues of "Walt Disney's Comics and
Stories"? That's almost $24! You've just lost my sales (I tend to buy all
Rosa stories), folks!

Actually, it appears I inadvertently exaggerated. $6.95 x 3 = almost $21,
not $24. Still that's too high. For those who suggest I should read more
than Rosa, bring the comics down to regular prices again, and I'll consider
it, but $7 is too high to buy monthly issues of a comic book.

In Finland it was in 3 parts so I belive it's the same thing in there.
I don't know if anyone is intterest but new Rosa's collection has again released in Finland. It's called ''The Black Night and other Don Rosas best''. As you may guess it contains the story Black knight and Gladstone Ganders and Scrooge Mcducks 50 year fromfirst appearencens-storyes and the legndary story made for Huey, Devey and Louie 60-year birthay( I don't know this in english) K.A.S.V.A.T.U.S.O.P.P.I.A. And Don Rosa's introduction to every stories. So althoug there aren't any new stories, I think it's going to be very good, and I'm deffinetly going to buy it!

Hmmm... How come all of the Dutch Disney artists are right-handed?
And could you elaborate on Michel Nadorp's nominated album? Unless you
already have, and I've forgotten. (Oh, and Nadorp is a very good artist,

they try to do too much. This makes the comic too expensive to buy on a
monthly basis. I don't think there's any other monthly comic book out there
that costs as much (although there may be one or two).

Gemstone's Donald Duck Halloween Ashcan comic book

This year I gave out comic books for Halloween. Gemstone put out a Donald Duck Halloween Ashcan issue. It was a 16 page mini sized issue that reprints a Carl Barks story from 1952 (Donald Duck #26).
I saw them mentioned on this list when someone posted the Disney portion of Diamond?s previews. I emailed Gemstone through their website asking if they would be available directly from Gemstone. I never got a response and they were never offered for sale on Gemstone?s website.
Gemstone made them available in bundles of 25. I ended up getting four bundles. I gave them out at work (the company sponsors a trick or treat afternoon for the children of employees) and at church (we had an open house in the church library on the Sunday before Halloween and had treats on hand).
They seemed to be a big hit. I got lots of positive comments from kids and parents. I hope Gemstone does something similar next year.
If so, I think they need to promote the idea a lot more than they did this year. If I wasn?t subscribed to this list I never would have known about this comic. Gemstone should sell the bundles through the website. They should make the bundles available for purchase in early September at the latest so that they?ll get shipped in time for Halloween.

As I understand it, those ashcans were primarily meant to be given away by
retailers (comic book shops) -- which is why they weren't listed for sale on
our site. I apologize for the lack of an e-mail response, though; someone
sure dropped the ball there!
I'm glad the books were a hit! We'll have to plan on doing it again next
year... =)
