That is not correct. There was published a comic with ONLY ONE Don Rosa story. With "Gyro's first invention". And there is one short comic of other artist.
But I had a right to think like that, cos few months ago were published 80-page comic books that were called "Kaczor Donald Wydanie Specjalne", like this one and and they cost 6,90 PLN.
But this issue contains some toy, and quality of a paper is better.
And now the best part:

Hello all!
And especially German members of the DCML. I found out that German Hall of
Fame number 3 (which was published already a year ago) contains something I
have written. I was surprised, although I knew that there was going to be
the preface. But there seems to be more, if this table of contents is right:

Hi. The Gemstone edition of ?Somewhere in Nowhere? was released in the U.S.
last Wednesday. Among other things, the issue contains a very
tongue-in-cheek interview with me about how I scripted the story. In the
interview I foolishly told everyone that they could learn more about
?Somewhere? by going to my website.
Why foolish? Because, in the intervening months since I did the interview, I
completely forgot about promising to post that background material. So...
About an hour ago, my webmaster and I finally got the info posted in the
Reading Room section of my website: www.lastkisscomics.com
The info in the Reading Room basically has a bit about how the plot got
revised numerous times from Carl Barks? original synopsis. Also included is
the long, long version of the synopsis. Frankly, I prefer this version of
the story to the published version?but it would?ve required far too many

Ashcans for trick-or-treaters

I want to second Chuck Munson's suggestion that Gemstone produce "ashcan"
Halloween comics every year that we fans could give out as treats on
Halloween. I was the happy recipient of a pack of 25, which I handed out
one-to-a-family to make them last longer. Like Chuck, I found people (kids
and parents) very pleased to get them. I agree with him that this could be a
great way to get the comics into the hands of kids who will never walk into
a comic book store. I have no idea whether it's economically feasible for
Gemstone, but it does seem to be a way Gemstone could make use of its
extremely loyal adult fan base to do its promotion on a grassroots level. I
know my friend Lowell Handy wished he could have had the comics to hand out
to his trick-or-treaters in Chicagoland. And my sister-in-law, who doesn't
read comics, wished she could have had them, too, just because she thinks
they're a much better treat than candy. (Note: other alternative-to-candy
treats tend not to work across the broad range of ages of trick-or-treaters;
comic books seem welcome to all, from pre-readers to teens.) I would
certainly be willing to pay for them, at least an amount equivalent to what
I would pay for candy treats. Probably more. And if I had some comics left
over after Halloween, I could drop them off in doctors' or dentists'
offices.

In Sweden the weekly Kalle Anka & co (Donald Duck) sells for 25 SEK
which is about 3.1- 3.2 US$ at current exchange rate. It contains 64
pages of which on an average about 50 pages are comics. It has the usual
comic book format and is in color.
I think that's rather a good price for that many pages. Sorry to say
though I think that 2005 has been rather bad when it comes to the
quality of the stories printed. 2004 had better stories in my opinion.
What do you other Scandinavians think ?

John Lustig asked for comments on the published version of Somewhere in

First of all I think John did an incredible job with the story and set a
great standard for others to follow.
I think it's a classic and long overdue to be published in the US.
I also have copies of the Itailian version which came out in both soft and
hard cover a couple of years ago.
The story and art are great and you would never know what went on behind the
scenes.
Now that I know however it would be great to see an expanded version. I'm
sure Pat Block (who I'm a big fan of) would be happy to comply since I
believe this is one of his best works.
I would hope Gemstone would also consider doing it, since there is so much
history involving the story and Carl Barks. I for one would buy an expanded
version.

Here's the problem that I have: I really don't mind paying $7.52 (includes
CA tax) once a month or so for a comic that contains a good Rosa story. I
even buy 2 copies, one for my collection and one "reader" copy. But I resent
like the dickens having to pay 3 times that amount for a single story as is
the case with the Comics & Stories that spread one Rosa story over 3 issues!
That's $22.57 for a single Rosa story. Classics like "The Treasury of
Croesus," "The Universal Solvent," "The Incredible Shrinking Tightwad,"
"Attack of the Hideous Space Varmints," and both "Caballeros Ride Again" and
"Minus Four Caballeros" all cost in the realm of $22-$23 each! That's
ridiculous, plain and simple. If nothing else these ought be reserved for
UNCLE SCROOGE issues that put the story in one edition. Leave other short
10-pagers for C&S where they traditionally belong.

of Fame hardbound book for sale. It contains stories from throughout his
career, from 1981 through 2004. Many of those stories were written by me. I'm
not currently with my copy of the book, so I'm not sure of the series number.
But, I believe, if I remember correctly, that it was Hall of Fame number 4 (but
please don't hold me to that. It includes one or two stories that have not
been published yet in Holland or Germany. The art in those more recent stories
has improved greatly over his style early in his career. And, as Jan is half
Norwegian, Norwegian members should also be interested. I'm hoping that if
sales of the German volume are high, perhaps Norwegian, Swedish and Danish
volumes will be published, as well, eventually.

The only prolific German Disney comics artist, Jan Gulbransson, now has a Hall
of Fame hardbound book for sale. It contains stories from throughout his
career, from 1981 through 2004. Many of those stories were written by me. I'm
not currently with my copy of the book, so I'm not sure of the series number.
But, I believe, if I remember correctly, that it was Hall of Fame number 4 (but
please don't hold me to that. It includes one or two stories that have not
been published yet in Holland or Germany. The art in those more recent stories
has improved greatly over his style early in his career. And, as Jan is half
Norwegian, Norwegian members should also be interested. I'm hoping that if
sales of the German volume are high, perhaps Norwegian, Swedish and Danish
volumes will be published, as well, eventually.
