GyroGearloose Helper is one of the most interesting Carl Barks character in
a supporting role. Scrap iron made and very intelligent, he is a robot that
to deviate the attention of the reader for one another history, inside of a
history.
This time it was not different, however, it are off the pages of comicses.

In December of 2004, the instructors and apprenticees of the
Senai(*) Jose Fagundes Netto in Juiz De Fora, Minas Gerais had decided to
promote one day of together voluntary action to entities of the region. E
had had the idea to produce hand toys to give of gift to the children.
Between them the Lampadinha! (Gyro?s Helper)
I entered in contact with the coordinator of the project, the Prof. Luiz
Claudio Rp, to ask for a photo of the Gyro?s Helper and I met more aspects
about the project .
For the 2005 edition, he had doubt if the toy would come back to be produced
and I stimulated them commenting on the characteristics of the character.
And for my great surprise they had decided to back to produce Gyro?s
Helpers for the edition of day V of 2005, that the entity Home Joana
Dangolis was become fullfilled in day 05 of December.
Although to fact to be a very simple toy, the ?Lampadinha? , (Gyro helper
in portuguese,) demanded a structuralized project, new parts and of scrap
iron, and the work of some apprenticees of the course of industrial
learning, youngsters of 14 well the 16 years. E for the assembly was
necessary a good manual ability. Process that was a very good lesson, for
all.
What it calls the attention in this project, is that although in the last
years hundreds of new characteres to have invaded the brazilian cultural
universe, when a group of people decided to produce without commercial
interferences a toy, they had remembered ?Lampadinha?. Not because it is a
simple toy. Gyro?s helper deferred payment in the heart of the Brazilian and
has
content, because it transmits a positive message of incentive, scientific
thought, and action for aid to the next one.
The children of the Home Joanna Dangolis and the team of the Senai had this
year participated of a very pretty history. E the Lampadinha (Gyro?s
Helper) was there!
Congratulations to all!

At a moment that we hear the proper managers whom they deal with the Disney
characteres in Brazil to be transparent an incompressible bad news, this
event is a small sample that demonstrates the incredible potentiality of the
characteres.

So I say : Believe about the Carl Barks characteres. And provides it to
the biggest number of brazilians and people around the world the chance of,
in the words of the Frenchman Albert Uderzo, creator of the Asterix, that:

"To dive in the cauldron of a potion whose great secret Walt Disney only
knows".

(*) Senai - National Service of Industrial Learning is a net of industrial
techniques schools of highest quality, kept by the brazilian industry. For a

I have a questin about your Family tree

I think you have forgot some characters of the Duck-family

I couldn't find DIM-WITTY DUCK. He's maybe a son of Mobys brothers or a brother of Moby.?

I couldn't find Betty the aunt from Brazil and Erwin Erpel, who apears in a story where Ludwig von Drake told about Donalds family tree

I couldn't find some of Daisy's aunts , too. ( Dora D?mpelfroh, Duckser) I don't know the original name. Erasmus Erpelsen, Deppi, Griseldis, Dick, Duckelbert, Dollbert, Otto, Dietbald and Danny Duck ( these charakters couldn't I also find) I don't know the original name. And I couldn't find Baron Botrecht zu Botenlos( original name???) who's a cousin of Fethry and a relative to Donald.

But the family tree is very very good, it exists some little mistakes.Have you any proof that some of these characters are related? Because p.exemple in your family tree Jake Duck is Pingos brother but also Bugys's. ( hair...)

Does that mean you now have the "Prisoner of White Agony Creek?" Is it
being scheduled to come out before its debut in "Uncle Scrooge?" I only ask
because the summer of 2006 seems early, since no word exists about its
publication in Europe yet (as far as I know). I'm excited about this
prospect though and look forward to buying and reading this book.

I think that Don Rosa mentioned that Gemstone was planning to release a
"complete" hardback version of "Lo$" sometime in 2007. In it, the 12
chapters of course would still be retained together with the additional
B-ones at the end. Is this project still on the table (I realize 2007 a long
ways away yet not too long)? For one, when I heard this news, I was
EXTREMELY excited. For such a magnificent series about these wonderful,
beloved characters, this is exactly the type of format that I want to
purchase the "Lo$" so as to collect and enjoy it forever in "completed"
form. Please tell me such a project remains in the works, and you can sign
me up already to purchase it, no matter the high cost, which I'm sure it
will be.

As for 2006, does Gemstone have any other special collections or
projects in the near future? Keep up the good work. I've loved your comics,
since I was a young child during the Gladstone days and still do in my
college years. I wish other Americans appreciated them, as much as people on
this list for example, but that is their loss, unfortunately. Merry
Christmas!

Officially, no we don't.

That all depends on Egmont. We hope they'll be able to tell us when
they will publish it, but at this point we haven't received any
information.

This is something we'd like to do, but to say that our intentions
will eventually translate into fact would be quite irresponsible of
us at this stage.

Sure. One I'm quite keen on is a two-volume collection of the Barks
stories that provided the basis for a number of episodes of DuckTales.

Hi, Santiago.

Having read your comment through Harry (I think it was),
namely the one with the Carpi/Bottaro mix-up, can you
please explain to us how you found that error (which
isn't an error after all)? With which story or stories
did you make the art comparison.

Also, I am a little surprised why you just didn't report
the "error" here...
