It was on the British amazon website for sale, for only 9 pounds. I ordered it and got an email back about my order. Hope they will send a confirmation about it being shipped. Would be great of course.
Lucky!
I tried the site and it appears that they too are sold out as I cannot proceed to "check out" after placing the book in my cart.
Let me know if and when you get your copy and what shape it's in.

I mailed them with the question if it was a first or second print. They said it's one that was published in 2005, so I think it's first print right?
Well, I can only be sure that I got it when it arrives :)
I'll let you know, I really got lucky with this

It's easy to tell the difference between the 1st and 2nd editions. the 1st has a red cover while the 2nd has a yellow-orange cover. 2005 is indeed the 1st printing. 2nd printing is 2007.
Here's a look at the 2nd printing cover: https://www.tfaw.com/Profile/The-Life-And-Times-Of-Scrooge-McDuck-TPB-2nd-Printing___271050

I knew about the colours, but on the website they had a picture of the first print. But I wasn't sure if it was correct. That's why I asked them.

Hmm! $999.00 Beginning to think my copy is for sale. I have no idea what is going on with that. And from two different sellers. Maybe a glitch with Amazon? I think that they need to remove the "Low Item Price" tag on these.
Just think, if Gemstone could sell around 374 of LTo$ at that price they would be back in business. And everyone would be happy, except for the saps who paid that for the book.

Omg...
I know that Smokymtnbooks is just following the other sellers. Their price always is the same as the lowest available price.
But this is just madhouse, they can't be serious... And it's still a used copy.
They probably got the impulse after that first copy of Superman sold for a few hundred thousands...

Speaking of Superman, can you say, "Bizzaro World?" The thing is, these copies will not sell for anything near that much. How could anyone think that they would, is beyond me.

I don't know, they really think that there are suckers who will pay that much right now...
Wait untill Rosa is dead and then another 50 years or so. Then you might get some money out of the LTo$.

My used copy has arrived. It is a second print version... It was nowhere mentioned on Amazon by the seller... Well, it was a surprise, but I didn't mind it that much. It's more to read.
I'm still waiting for a confirmation about the shipping of my new first print version from the UK.
It has been almost 2 weeks I think, and still no sign of shipping...

You should consider contacting the seller to demand a partial refund. These sellers need to be held accountable for their products. If the picture of the item shown on Amazon is the 1st printing, they need to mention in their description if they're selling something different.

When you go to your Amazon page to "Open and recently placed orders" what is the "Delivery estimate" for it? If they haven't shipped it by now and it has been almost 2 weeks, you need to contact Amazon customer service.

Now the prices are more "normal" than before.
I've got a reply from the company who sold me the 2nd print copy, they are offering me 10 dollar refund :)
Now it's just a matter of waiting for my new copy form the UK...

Well, the cheapest copy currently at Amazon is $150.
But I don't think I'm gonna buy from Amazon any more. Not if I care about what I'm getting... I had purchased 2 copies from an Amazon seller for $10 ea. but they turned out to be 'LIKE NEW' 2nd printings (even though the description clearly has the July, 2005 date and the picture shows the 1st printing with the red cover!). Also, one has the cover almost completely unglued from the spine! Trying to get a refund. Buying even 'NEW' books from an Amazon seller is like playing Russian roulette, for heaven's sake!
