Schulz was someone who never forgot a slight and internalized many of his disappointments in life. These found their way into Peanuts. Peanuts was not all melancholy, but it does hang over the strip even in its happier moments. Perhaps this is why some of the TV specials from the late 70's and on just don't feel right when Schulz and Melendez moved them more toward action and story oriented shows.

It is generally best not to link to the Nostalgia Critic, or any internet reviewer, on youtube. It's illegally ripped content.

Whoops, I was unclear as all hell.

I mean that people like the Nostalgia Critic use services like blip. In 90% of the cases, the people who upload it to youtube are ripping the video and uploading it without permission. Watching the original files, located on the creators' page, will support the people making the content because they get ad revenue. Some people do use youtube, but it's pretty rare precisely because it's so easily copied. Down below is the original video.

From what I heard Nostalgia Critic/Doug Walker has no problem with people puting his stuff on you-tube (I recall he actually gave his blesings to the people who put his videos with added subbtitles for other countries) but I see your point so next time I'll put the blip version.

I saw the Nostalgia Critic's review on Disney Afternoon...and I laughed so damn hard! (Forgive my use of words...)

Yet...I thought "Quack Pack" was an awesome show...

I agree with you there Mr Cleveland. Quack Pack was an awesome show. A lot of people don't like it for some strange reason though. Some People think it's a ripoff from Goof Troop but I don't think it is.

I'm really looking forward to the Peanuts movie. I've always Ben a big fan of the strip and the animated creations.
To coincide with the release of the movie, they are also releasing two older features on DVD - "Race for Your Life Charlie Brown" and "Bon Voyage Charlie Brown, and Don't Come Back."
I'm also looking forward to the Popeye movie. There should also be a tie-in there in which WB releases more of the theatrical cartoons on DVD.

I'm a person who normaly dislike CGI animation and wish they would back to making classical hand drawn animation but teasers for both "Peanuts" and "Popeye" look incredible interesting and in the spirit of older cartoons

Agreed on Peanuts. When I first heard about it I was terrified but it looks like they truly care about keeping it the way it should be. The CGI style is so much better than I expected.

I think CGI and computer technology works in animation best when it is used in cooperation with time-tested approaches - Futurama used it well, How to Hook Up Your Home Theater used it well and, from what I've seen, Popeye and Peanuts will likely use it well.
I am always hesitant to take 2-d characters and make them three dimensional; I feel like it often doesn't look right. However, I think the industry has made a lot of progress in recent years.
