Can you please implement a Sub-Forum which can include the following sub-categories?:
1) Duck/Mouse Universe scientific theories
2) Story Trivia Discussion
3) DC Trivia Quizzes

Hi Robb!
I created only *one* sub-forum here, on purpose.
I find it confusing to have severals, usually people do not know where to post, and it's hard to come by with clearly different areas in Disney comics, when the discussion is free and a thread's topic may change...

So I'd like to heard other opinions before making new subforums. Maybe also time will tell what is the best option.

The reason I suggested subfora for Trivia Quizzes and Donaldist scientific theories is that individual threads for specific quizzes and theory discussions are necessary to keep those threads from dominating the forum.

OK, maybe we can have a "Trivia / Quizz" sub-forum.

Thanks. Having a separate Trivia/Quiz subforum would keep the main forum uncluttered. People who aren't interested in the quizzes wouldn't have to scroll down through many threads to see what is new of their interest. By the same token, people mostly interested in the quizzes would know just where to find them all.

It would be impractical to have only one thread for quizzes, as people would have a hard time keeping track of which post was an answer to which quiz, if they were all together. So, we can now have a single thread at least for each multiple-question quiz.

Why a sub-forum (whatever that is)? A simple thread/topic should be enough.
Personally I find it annoying to have to click through various topics to read the latest posts, but that's just me and my oldfashioned mailing list habits. (Updates on-screen of which new posts haven't been read is not keeping up well.)
Perhaps a general main thread would be better, which - if a discussion got too specific - could branch into a new topic for those still interested.

Maybe we can see what's going on, and if having only one forum is a problem, we create another one.

The problem is that on a single thread, it's very difficult to find the different posts related to different quizzes. The guessing answers to one quiz are interspersed with those of other quizzes. The providing of the answers by the quizmakers are also interspersed between those from makers of other quizzes, as well as the guesses to all the various quizzes. It's very difficult for one to find the continuity of the specific quiz one is following. The alternative to that (IF there isn't a special sub-forum), is having a seperate thread for each quiz. But that results in a ridiculous number of threads that overburden a multiple-interest forum, and make people take a long time searching for the threads they are interested in.

A special sub-forum has all the different threads of a specific interest, conveniently together in one place. I am a member of 3 other fora which have found those same problems. The one of the three that has seperated the Trivia/Quiz threads into a separate sub-forum.

I think it would have been nice if people could insert their national flag next to their avatar, so that we would know where people are coming from.

Hmm... the forums you frequent must have a [i]lot]/i] of quizzes if they would actually succeed in cluttering the forum before dying out (and thus disappearing in the voids of forgotten threads). The forums I visit have only one or two active quiz threads which manage to "blend in" with the (20-30) other threads shown on the front page more than to dominate them. Anyway, as I agree with PaperOle that it is annoying to have to check several subforums for new (posts in) threads, I suggest that we only create a new subforum when the need is there for it.
Also, I suggest to only create a new subforum which has a topic that is clearly very different from the existing one(s). Both for the reason mentioned above, but also since it will be very hard to know in which subforum to post if the topics are e.g. "Duck universe", "Mouse universe", "Creators", etc. -- and discussions starting out in one topic might very well change over time into something that would then belong into a different subforum.

Actually this information is easily inferrable from the users IP-address (already show below the avatar). An administrator with a little spare time should take a look at: http://software77.net/cgi-bin/ip-country/geo-ip.pl

You can see the IP-addresses because you are a morderator, Sigvald, for instance, can??t see them.

Since François is an expert at programming, would it be possible to add a little something in the links' script so that they open in another page? (If a amjority agrees) No rush, of course.

I like the C.O.A. color scheme, by the way.
A great point: the contrast between text and background is perfect-- those sites, forums and blogs with a high contrast a extremely painful to read (especially white over black).

Using the I.P. addresses would be confusing for people who would want to know what country I "represent". As my computer in USA (in winter, parts of spring and fall) will read "USA", and my computer in Germany (in summer) will read "Germany", and my computer in Holland (in spring and fall will read (The Netherlands), and while visiting in Danmark for some weeks (as I do every year), my computer code will be from Danmark.

Or will the I.P. adress always just be that of the computer used when the person registered and/or made out their user profile? What if I had registered while at my USA computer, but then filled out my profile information when at my computer in Holland? Would my I.P. address have also changed in my profile?

Will I get 3 flags, or even four? Or 5! I might want to use a Canadian one as well!

Well I agree with Olivier. When an external link is clicked I'd apreciate to have a new window open.
About sub-forums : why not, but only for very different purposes. eg. How to find/buy comics, FAQ about the forum.
About flags : it would be fun.
