We're almost "talking" in real time. maybe we should shift to "The Chat Room!" :)
The Gottfredson story was the one with the hypnotist/jewel thief. "The Great Jewel Robbery"? of course, Gottfredson's daily strips had no divisions of stories, and no titles.
We titled it "Het Geheim Van Glimmie De Juwelen Dief". That would mean in English: "The Mystery of Shiny (or Gleamy) The Jewel Thief"

Quote from user: cacouAnd here is a list of users per country on the current forum:
Koodia:DNK 13
DEU 11
NOR 7
USA 6
EU 6
SWE 5
NLD 4
FRA 4
FIN 3
ITA 3
BRA 2
AUT 2
ESP 2
GBR 1
EGY 1
CAN 1
LVA 1
POL 1
ISL 1
11 in Germany! Amazing! And 6 in USA! Good turnout! But, of course, Cacou and I will be leaving there soon. So they'll lose a full third of their "membership", unless others show up. 2 from Austria! I never would have guessed. We should get the word out to other former DCMLers. A lot of them don't look at DCML very often, and they could easily have missed the announcement if they don't read the Archives.

I reduced the larger one I did and cleaned it up.

Unfortunately, the reduced version has such small teardrops that those off of his face are not noticeable. So, the first small version is better. The longer ears in the larger and its reduced version distract from the pain in the face. I prefer the first version. Maybe you could add some tears over his face on the first version?

Can do. I'm on the chat now, by the way. Sorry for missing the "appointment" above. I'm watching Casino for the first time while drawing and replying.

Actually, that was sort of a joke, as we were using a regular thread just about as effectively as a chat room, anyway. In any case, this is a great forum, and i know it will get better and better. This is a much better format than the outmoded DCML mail system. This is what we had in mind when we set up DCML - Talk. But that was doomed to failure, as it was only supposed to be used for OFF-TOPIC to Disney Comics topics.
I have to leave to do my cooking for the week. But, as you can see by my post times, I'm never far away and NEVER SLEEP!!!

Ooops! I thought (wrongly) that we had a seperate ENGLISH chat room on DCF. Now I see that it is the Dansk group's chat line. So, I didn't register. I don't think I want yet another website to check (and most are chatting in Dansk, anyway). I'm already spending way too much on internet fora. I'll just talk to you here on DCF threads. We do a lot in real time here, apparantly.

Maybe a darker shade of blue would do the trick?
The ears were a problem, but I tried to stay close to the proportions of your drawing; the body helped them blend him. The airs on the ears look ugly, but there again I tried to keep the details.
I will add tears and hair on the first version, but I'm done with this drawing or tonight.

Sorry, I forgot to reply.
That's "The Gleam" / "The Jewel Thief", January 19-May 2, 1942, by Floyd Gottfredson, Merril de Maris and Bill Wright. This is the one missing a strip in the semi-official anthology-- that is, at one point, an earlier strip was duplicated.
