Topic: What do you think is the weirdest Disney comic cover?

Some of them can at times appear to be unbelieveably strange.

At the moment I cast my vote for this one.

And ESPECIALLY this one!

That first one isn't official Disney art, so I don't know that it really counts.

I'm not sure why it's on Inducks, my jaw dropped when I saw it so I went ahead and listed it. ;)

Uhhh... Okaaay... ;) I still can't figure out what those covers are, lol!

They're for the German fanzine "Der Hamburger Doanldist". Personally, I'll go for everything early. The early Dutch covers, and, especially, the early Topolino covers. Yech!

I'd have to go with that Topolino cover, with Donald as a pet fish and Fethry as a cat. The Italians certainly drift the farthest away from Barks and US original Disney concepts in their style and sense of humour.
Der Hamburger Donaldist, Der Donaldist and Donaldismus..... all I can say is- YES, that is unofficial, and totally bizarre concept of The Ducks. I can say that, without being accused of being prejudiced, as I have been a member and contributed artwork and worked with Der Donaldist's Bremen and Frankfürt editorship, and attended their Annual Kongress 3 different years.
But I certainly understand why we have indexed Disney-related artwork in that magazine, as there have been many fine Disney comics artists who have done artwork for them (Dan Jippes, Freddy Milton, Jan Gulbransson, Volker Reiche, Ulrich Schröder, Marco Rota - even Don Rosa).

Some of the weirdest Disney comics covers I ever have seen are few Belgian Mickey Magazine covers from 1950's. Partly because of the artwork style, but also because of the particular scene thet artist (or editor) have picked up from the story which they illustrate. Odd stuff.

That still isn't as odd as the Italians. Then again, the Italians have always been and probably will always be a little weird with storylines and stuff.

That one up there with Scrooge (in an explosion?) is pretty bizarre.
Dutch Duckfan Down Under
Oh, but IT GETS WORSE. Practically every cover for the Belgian Mickey Magazines is actually a COVER for a story. The explosion is unseen in the comic, but we see a boom in Barks' The Money Well.

The one next to it is for Barks' Around the World in 80 Minutes story. And the upper two are also covers for stories. But it gets worse. YES, IT GETS WORSE.
See this?

This is a cover for a Taliaferro sunday page. They did this often. OFTEN.

Row 3, illustration 2. It was in that particular comic.

This one?

This one.

And the list goes on and on. Bizarre enough?

I was always nuts about the cover of LTB 9:

The ... er... economic design of TGDD 3 also always striked me as particularly fascinating:

But I must that the covers of those old Belgian magazines Timoro digged out beat everything. Especially the last one is eerily wonderful!

Ok everybody, I just couldn't resist adding this: since it was pointed out on a recent post here that this cover exists, and I had remarked that it is so unbelievably bizarre that it should be on this thread, here it is:

That last one was pretty weird.

I nominate this cover...it could be mentioned in the "Full Frontal" thread as well....
