What's the name of that story Sim? Has it been published in an American issue recently?

"Donald Duck Writes A Book". Never published in English according to Inducks. See http://coa.inducks.org/s.php?c=S+75182

Quote from user: Roger NorthI used to think that Scrooge and Grandma were brother and sister but after reading The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck I found out that it wasn't true. They are not related and they are not in the same generation. Scrooge's sister Hortense married Grandma's son Quackmore. I don't know what happened to them but I think they might gotten tired of raising Donald and dumped him on Grandma. Della did the same to her sons Huey Dewey and Louie when she dumped them on Donald.
But if Grandma Duck was originally supposed to be Donald's mother, she would also be Scrooge's sister, wouldn't she? So I can see why some people would think that.

In "Paperino e l'eredit indiana" (I TL 118-BP), by G. Martina and L. Bottaro, the notary says Donald's parents are "Fu", an italian word who means "dead/deceased".

I am not sure if it was mentioned previously, but there's also the Kid Pampeador story, where Donald hatches from an egg.
The explanation as to why Donald is an orphan (see Rota story) is given in the story: just after Pete has killed Donald's father (cutting his neck), he decides to purchase Donald's poor mother, leaving the egg where Donald is, alone.
It is a real masterpiece, but the reader should be aware of the style of Bottaro, and of the fact that he often plays with and intentionally goes against the "rules" of Disney comics.

That story was simply a parody of "El Cid Pampeador".
It cannot be considered a canonical story.

Looks like Donald's parents were party people and just have Donald Duck stay with Grandma and Scrooge while they party. (I think that'll be in the Donald Duck Rock Opera).

And the song will be similar to this song, and It'll be called "Quackmore and Hortense"...

Donald's father looks more like a Gander than Donald. Perhaps Donald's mother met with a different Duck in the woodshed?

Haha I don't think so.

I don't think so either. But yeah, his beak looks rather gander-like in that last picture. But then again, so does Hortense's.

Hmm...I wonder...

Interesting topic! The fact that Donald's parents already appeared in this story: http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=S+75182&search=Das%20Erstlingswerk , years and years before Rosa wrote Lo$, really surprises me. Does anybody know more about this story? Does it mention or hint what might have happened to Donald's parents?
Grandma Duck being Donald's mother doesn't really make sense to me. In an early American Strobl story (which I can't find on the INDUCKS, but I remember someone referring to it as 'DG#47'), Grandma says that she "outgrew slingshots 80 years ago", which means she must be at least, like, 85 or so. As this story: http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=D+2010-140 implies that Donald himself is no older than 30, there could have easily been a generation younger than Grandma and older than Donald.

Donald's parents indeed appear in that story. They are seen in inly one panel, dancing, suggesting they weren't poor and hard workers, contrary to what Donald pretends. DD's mother has a typical "annees folles" (1920s) haircut.
