This is fantastic - Series 2 - looks like 3 different Scrooges, HD&L and a Donald from Lost in the Andes.....I wish they would produce a Flintheart Glomgold already..He's pretty much the only CB classic left they haven't done duck-wise. Already got this one pre-ordered thru Entertainment Earth.

Oooh, do want. Managed to score the first Scrooge figure locally, and on sale none the less. The prices on these little gems puts me off of collecting them as a whole, but I'd certainly consider whipping the wallet out again if they did a Glomgold, or another great Scrooge sculpt in this series.

Amazon.com had Gyro for under $10 around Christmastime. You just have to be on the lookout for deals.

Yeah, the first Scrooge seems to have been a good investment. You cannot buy him now for under $125.00 - (I've seen them sell for $300.00!) The first Donald seems to be selling well also. The others not as healthy. I scored my Gyro for full price, but got #10 out of 650, so I was happy with that!

Indeed! Often forget to keep an eye out for comic-based Duck merch though, as I've gone so long being used to it not really existing.

It's great seeing all these new Dark Horse duck figures coming out. I actually like the way they're made to look old with the worn look and sort of sloppy with the seam. If you use some imagination they almost feel like an old toy that was made back when the original comic books were printed. I'm curious, though, from the photo we can see, what does anybody else think of this first Uncle Scrooge coming out in the second series? (I'm especially glad they're going to add the nephews. I wish they'd do a Woodchuck!)
Maybe it's me but for for some reason it doesn't quite excite me. Scrooge's hat doesn't quite look like the drawing, I don't care for the colors too much, and the gold and dirt on the ground doesn't look realistic. I'm just judging by the photo, but I'd be curious what other people think? Patrick www.PatrickHanifin.com

I see what you mean by the statue not entirely matching the drawing (the hat and eyes are a bit off,) but I still like the charm involved. This may be just one of the prototypes. I am hoping one of the nephews may have his woodchuck hat on...I am curious why they have confirmed 5 and not 6 statues in the 2nd series....

Yes, I feel that the sculpt could have matched the drawing much more closely in many ways. But still, it is what it is, and still desirable.
Where did you guys see and hear about the other upcoming series 2 releases w/ 3 different Scrooges, HD&L and a Donald from Lost in the Andes? Is there a website? I do not see it on the dark Horse site.

Keep checking Amazon.com -- their prices fluctuate wildly, sometimes changing significantly in the course of a single day:

Case in point... Magica was selling for $32 just a few days ago, but has risen back to $48 as of today. And as I said before, Gyro was selling for only $9.98 a week or two before Christmas!

Amazon lists this as "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be BACK in stock." Did they have this available for pre-order and then ran out?

Hmm. Sometimes they put items up for pre-order that technically aren't available yet. You may want to check back periodically. I can't imagine it selling out THAT fast, when most of the others are still available at retail.

It's in the top article. I just went ahead and pre-ordered from Entertainment Earth...The first series went so fast I just gave up hunting bargains...

I haven't even bought the old ones as they are very expensive!

I had already bought the Uncle Scrooge and really liked him. Then I won a Donald for $20.50 on eBay. That hooked me! I started searching and found someone near me who had the other four at a good price. I drove over today and got Gladstone, Gyro with Helper, Magica De Spell, and the Beagle Boy. I can't begin to tell you how much I like these!
They're all the right scale together and look great as a group. There's lots of detail to them. I personally like the distressed look with the seams showing like an old toy. I've owned different Barks bronzes and the Always Another Rainbow figure. Also, at one point I had a huge Uncle Scrooge figurine collection and used to publish a fanzine called The Duck Hunter. I can't think of anything that was ever as well done as these for the money.
I know $50 is steep for many people, but these are done with the right spirit and in my opinion, worth it. These are exceedingly well executed to look like the Barks characters, fun, and you can enjoy them. They're not just something you spend $2500 or more on that's sits in a glass case never to be touch or handled. Name another quality Barks type figure you could even begin to buy for $50? Believe me when you see these and handle them they are so much nicer than you'd expect from the photos.
