Quote from user: steet] Uh? Youtube quality is HORRIBLE. Seriously, if you own the DVDs, you will see a HUGE difference. Which only adds to the annoying part that they haven't released all the episodes on any of the shows :/
Well quality on this level is good enough for me to enjoy it (episodes below are in Polish) :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tqq9xooZ95E&feature=relmfu

But I agree 100% that DVD quality is waaaaay better and I would obviously prefer to see the episode in such way...

This is kind of changing the subject, but I just remembered something that I found quite a while ago, which I can't figure out whether it is hilarious or creepy. Probably both.
Are you tired of all the mainstream religions? Well, how about a cult about Gadget from Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers? Apparently some fans from Russia made a religion based off of her where they gather to pray to her, and sing songs about her and a whole bunch of other stuff like that. I'm all for fans coming together to talk about their interests, but this is going a little overboard.

Damn!!!! I and here I was thinking how the whole Brony thing is geting more and more disturbing... o_O
Quote from user: Monochromewhich I can't figure out whether it is hilarious or creepy
If they are trully serious about it ? I would say scary...
I admit faith is a complicated issue. I'm myself a very religoious and spiritual person but I had friends of many diffrent religions (In fact my partents belives are as diffrent as It can get) and I learn to be as tolerant as possible of other people views even if I stand strongly by my own. I think there are plenty of incredilbe phenomenons out there, that as humans we propably know only 1% of what going on "out there" and while I don't belive (for example) in faires I would respect a person who honestly belive there are some tiny spirits living in his garden helping out his flowers since... Well why not ? I can't speak for expiriance he had in life and maybe there where some events that made him 100% belive there are faries plus I find it beautiful that some people can have this sort of spiritual conections with nature.
This begins said... Religiously worshiping and praying to a character you KNOW is only a work of fiction somebody created? I just have hard time wraping my mind around it...
Plus - Of all possible character to build a cult around you pick Gadget? This is actually a pretty big oxymoron. If they worship her they obviously watch all the episode or at very least all the episode with her in the mian role. Which means they seen "The Case of the Cola Cult" which is a very dark episode (well, "dark" by Rescue Rangers stanadards) about Gadget joing a false religious cult which brainwashes mouses complitly. The episode have a heavy message about sects and even have Gadget say lines like "You don't need a cult to get together and feel you are a part of something". Plus they had another episode when Gadget was presented as incredible sceptic and wanted prove man who belive in luck he is wrong about it. So they bascialy building religion around character who if anything is about pro-secular messages...
It's like wanting Donald as a mascot of a neo-natzi organisation after watching "Der Fuehrer's Face"... It's just super confusing...

Haha, well, the brony thing is actually quite disturbing. After all, any fandom that has their own made up rule for... Rule 34 I find is in the creepy books. Also, I've dealt with these people in real life, and well, for some it's a terrible thing if you don't know the Pinkie Pie code or whatever.I am well aware that there are bad ones in every fandom, but man, there are particularly horrible people in MLP.
Anyway, as for myself, I try to be while tolerant of other people's faith's as well (except when they are being a jerk about it) but I cannot really take this one seriously. It just oozes creepy fans all over it. The only other fandom that I've heard about having a religion is Twilight (which may be an urban legend) but we all know how creepy those fans can be.
Well, they apparently say that's she beautiful, intelligent and all that but your right. I remember that episode and it's whole point was like you said was to ward people away from this type of thing. True sometimes things gets missed in translation, but it was the focal point of the whole episode. They seem to not be learning from their great Goddess too well.
Well, judging by how many neo-nazi groups seem to completely miss the point from the limited amount I've heard about them (there are even people that are nazi-furs who's rules state to be tolerant and respectful of others religions and opinions... what? I know that usually these are not true organization for these types of things but still...), I wouldn't be surprised if one used Donald.
It would be interesting to hear what they think of everybody else in Chip and Dale though, or if it's just 100% about Gadget. Judging by what people posted, they only seem interested in Gadget though. Which bring in another point, I wonder if this is either staged (which is completely possible, however I did find what I think is their Livejournal and they did refer to her as a Goddess a couple of times) or if is overblown because of translation errors.

To be honest it's a pretty huge miracle how Lauren Faust took one of the lamest franchises ever made and not only made a very fun show out of it (As a person who works as a writer in children shows not only I have large respect for this show writing but I see it almost as a perfect example how you should write kids shows) but the fact she made a show for little girls thats got popualr among adult man!? That's just beyond impresive!
Of all the "religous cults base on cartoon characters" I won't be supprise if one day Bronies start walking door to door asking people to join them in enternal life in Equestria or something... I recently had a talk with a friend who is a psychotherapist about people who get fixation on cartoon characters and she talk how it's actually very normal if not comon for people to find a cartoon character atractive and even qote on quote furries are harmless since subconsciously you don't think about anthropomorphic characters as animals but as pepple and most animated characters like Lola Bunny, Minerva Mink or Gadget are physically build in a way an attractive girl would look like, not an animal and in their cases it's their "human parts" that catch your attension if you know what I'm talking about ;) (I just hope female members of the forum won't take this post in a wrong way I'm just pointing out the way "man who get attracted to those characters" think ;) )
However... those Ponies are... well.. ponies! They have human personalites, yes but they psysically build like horses not human! They don't even walk on two legs like Horace Horsecollar but four and even do horse sound efects when they walk! Bronies who write posts on the internet about being attracted by them sexually just freak me out o_O
I know "friendship is magic" but this is just wrong...

That's a good point. If Gadget is their god/godess soudn't that technicaly make the rest of the cast some important figures to them as well? I wonder if Fat Cat is their version of Satan or Iblis...

Indeed, it's not an uncommon gimmick in pop culture to make make female cartoon characters appear "human" by giving them feminine-appearing physical features, even as male characters maintain the cartoony animal-like shapes of the species they are supposed to represent. I remember being somewhat disconcerted as a child by the way certain female cats looked on "Tom and Jerry". The degree of female anthropomorphism can vary, of course, being subtle as Gadget's design, to being far more obvious, like Minerva Mink. I think the classic Disney universe escaped this unwritten rule; for example, Daisy and Magica, both supposed to be attractive female characters (based on other characters' descriptions of them, anyway) have very Duck-like bodies. The same's the case with Minnie, who's been uncharitably referred to as "Mickey in drag".

Well, personally, I watched a few episodes of MLP and it did have pretty good gags in it and good writing. Haha I muchly prefer the looks of the first Generation ponies. Ugh, I hate the look of the new ponies. Between the art style and the creepier fans, MLP s kind of ruined for me. And really, the G1 show wasn't bad for what it was supposed to be.

Haha, I'm surprised that there isn't a religion already. I mean, I've seen a sketch done by the I think the character designer or something and signed by the voice actor sell for $1700 to a 23 year old man. I've seen pony felt hats being faught over, and pony crossovers with everything. Also the fandom is suppose to follow the lessons taught in the show, so it is serving as a moral groundpoint to some, but some of them don't do so obviously.
I consider people attracted to anthropomorphic characters just like any other fetish, so that part is not so weird. I can understand where the're coming from. It's the weird "on the inside, I'm a wolf/dragon/cat" thing and is usually hating on the human race which is really ironic, as well as the creepy ones that have a term for everything and take it too far that I find strange. It kind of ruins the reputation of all the other ones, even furry's that are even attracted to any type of character. Ugh, well it's just worse when they attempt to add female attributes to them. I've heard of this happening waaaay too often. It's the internet, so of course it going to happen, but not this much.

Yeah, not giving female Ducks any sort of those attributes is a little unique. Apparently Quack Pack reverses that for some reason.

Yeah, I would think that perhaps the rest of them would be some sort of lesser God's or something?
Haha, perhaps.
Sadly (?) though, I've never seen anyone that views Gadget that way even mention the show (I suspect I ran across their livejournal I think one time, and all the parts that I used Google translate, I never seen a mention of anyone else. Weird.)

I have to admit, that I've had crushes on many cartoon characters, and some of them aren't even human. When I was eight years old, I too had a crush on a character from "Chip'n'Dale Rescue Rangers", but since I was a girl, it was Chip and not Gadget. And later on, I also had crushes on Widget the World watcher (an alien) and Lion-O from "Thundercats" (but then again, a lot of boys felt something similar for Cheetara, so I guess that's not so weird). And I was actually seventeen/eigteen years old, when I developed a crush on Fenton Crackshell from "Duck Tales", and that cartoon crush is still going strong ten years later. Yikes, I guess I told you too much about myself here. But what I really wanted to say was, it's nice to see how I'm not the only one with crushes on cartoon characters, including non-human ones.

I use to have a crush on Princess Jasmine, Mulan and Maleficent...
(Heck! Jasmie even made it on top 7 "My secret crushes" list on my blog
http://panmilus.blogspot.com/2011/01/te-moje-pokiebaszone-fantazje-seksualne.html )
I can't think of any animal character at the moment but as soon I think of one I shall gladly post it ;)
EDIT :
Actually I think Magica De Sell comes to mind... :)

Hmmm, I thought about it for quite a bit, and despite what I said, I liked Chip with his hat when I was younger haha, but most of the attraction of him for me left when he took off said hat. Also, I kind of recall liking the mouse off of the mouse detective, but once again, I think it was mostly the clothing and the two of these characters intelligence that interested me, those I can't say that their choice of animal and how they were drawn was a bad thing in their case. Though I think it would be going way too far to call it a crush or anything like that.
Anywho, my point is that I think it is rather than their form at least for some people it is their other surrounding features, such as their clothes added attributes or personality, rather than just how their body looks for anthro animals, now that I think about it. Of course, this isn't true for everyone.
To tell you the truth, I can't think of any Disney character that I had a true crush on. There was a few from other cartoon series though. Like I think Ash from Pokemon and Shaoran Lee from Cardcaptors
Well then, this is starting to feel like a group confession.
