Anybody know if Boom's forthcoming Don Rosa Donald Duck treasuries will contain all of his duck stories? I'm hoping the first book reprints "Son of the Sun" but that's a Scrooge story as I recall.

If the information on this page is correct, the title of these releases is accurate as well; it'll be limited to those stories starring Donald.
...In an unrelated note, gotta love how he hogs the spotlight in all of the releases.
EDIT: Same-time-post with Lars Jensen, cool! I like his link better, mainly because it shows more enthusiasm about the Treasury:
Quote:"Are we aiming to win a Junior Woodchuck Merit Badge, or what?"
Well played, Boom, well done...

Maybe they should do a Scrooge series by Don Rosa as well minus the Life and Times series of course.

I'm looking forward to these books but I'm missing a hardcover edition. The Life and Times books are great.

At last, Boom is shipping the WALT DISNEY DONALD DUCK TREASURY VOL 1 TP this coming week. Quality conscious American comic shops will have it in stock on Wednesday, 18 May 2011.

It must've come out today. Get this -- apparently Boom's site already lists this book as being sold out. They must've gotten a ton of orders.

I had a copy of Walt Disney Treasury Donald Duck Vol 1 ordered on Amazon. As of today, May 18, it hadn't arrived or shipped. It came in today at my local comic book store at Huntington Beach, CA. I was able to get their last copy and canceled my Amazon order. The other copies the store had were being held for customers who had placed orders for them.
On Boom's website it now lists this as sold out and no longer shows Vol 2. The store where I went, Comic's Unlimited, said they hasn't even ordered Vol 2 and it'll be quite a while before it comes out.
My first impression of Vol 1 is that it is very nicely done. Don Rosa in mentioned on the back cover but unfortunately his name is absent from the front cover. There are no comments from him other than a 2 page spread where Don is standing in front of an old chest that had been previously published in the Life and Times book. There is a nice Don Rosa cover gallery and also the sketches to a story called THE STARSTRUCK DUCK. I really wish there were Don Rosa comments which I so enjoy but it's still a fantastic book.

As of May 19th & today May 20th -- Boom's website no longer shows it as being sold out -- you can purchase it from then. I checked with another comic store, (my dad wants me to order one), you can order it from the publisher still. They must've printed more copies.
BTW -- I got the book. It's beautiful! The Star-Struck Duck is in it, (instead of being printed with 4 pages on one page like the European Rosa books) - it's 10 pages, (so the art is much bigger). They did an amazing job on it.
There's also a 5-page preview of the Walt Disney's Comics & Stories Archive #1. It looks really faithful to the original book - especially with the coloring.

I've also ordered this book. The Starstruck Duck will be my final Don Rosa drawn and written story that I get to own - except Gyro's Beagle Trap.
