A lot of people lump "The Name of the Rose" together with
"Foucault's [sp.?] Pendulum", at least unconsciously, which
may add to the confusion. The latter novel might indeed be
compared with GotLL, since it sweeps through history, tracing
the roots of all sorts of things back to mysterious origins
and secret guardian societies (the Knights Templar). So maybe
that prompted the questions about the former novel.
