Gemstone The Life And Times Of Scrooge McDuck cover has already been chosen.

Thanks for the link (to both Dean and Adel). So Gemstone chose the same

Hi all!
I'm looking for different translations for poem Donald is reciting for the
ship cruise contest in Barks' story "Not-So-Ancient Mariner". I believe he's
reciting these actual lines from Coleridge's poem:
>"God save thee, ancient Mariner! From the fiends, that plague thee thus!--
>Why look'st thou so?"--With my cross-bow I shot the ALBATROSS.
(I can't check it right away, since I don't have original English language
version here right now)
Danish translation misses (I believe) that origin:
"Jeg f?ler sk?bnen true, thi med min pil og bue, jeg sk?d en Albatros."
(I guess this IS NOT from the official danish translation of Coleridge's
actual poem?)
Finnish translation follows that:
"Mua kohtalo uhkaa hirmuisin, sill? nuolen ammuin ilmoihin ja albatrossia
haavoitin." (Horrible faith threatens me, since I shot my arrow in the air,
and wounded the albatross)
which is not original Finnish translation of the poem.
How is it in other languages?

News about Dutch balloons!!!

Yippee!!!
Last night I received the news that Dutch Disney artists (like Heymans
and Gulien) are allowed to draw their own balloons again!!!!!!!!
In recent years, these balloons have been added by computers. The Dutch
artists were not allowed to draw them by themselves anymore.
But now the balloons are back. I'm told it's final, and that nothing
can take it away anymore. In approximately 8 weeks the first results
will turn up in the Dutch weekly Donald Duck Weekblad.

The Dutch had 2 different translations. The first one was:

I know it by head because I liked it very much. It has a perfect meter.

The second translation is now used in all Dutch reprints of the story.

Carl Barks, as usual, knew his stuff. These lines come directly from

The Swedish version, fortunately, uses wordings from a real Coleridge
translation (by Ragnar Eklund). It goes:
"Gud hj?lp dig, gamle Sj?man!
Fr?n pl?gans andar loss!
Vad felas dig?" - "Jag grep en pil
Och sk?t v?r ALBATROSS."
I wonder if Donald Duck might not have done at least as much to make these
lines famous in Sweden as has Coleridge himself. I'll never forget our
literature classes in high school in 1978, when I could show the teacher
that story (in Kalle Anka & C:o #24/1967). That sparkled her interest in
comics and she became a member of NAFS(k), our Donaldist society.
Don Rosa also used a Coleridge poem once, in "Return to Xanadu". When
translating that story, I likewise did my best to find a Swedish rendering
of "Kubla Khan" and used one by Anders ?sterling.
